I don't like near the bus stop.

Great location, friendly staff and parking facilities. Reasonable cost for what you’d expect from an old sea side hotel. Happy hour at the bar was actually 2 hours where many drinks were half price (expensive outside of happy hour though). Linen and towels clean and in good condition.

The bed was not fit for purpose. It was clearly a non-commercial basic, & overly worn out, spring mattress that almost flattened when you laid on it with spring’s digging in any which way you turned. Asked for it to be replaced but only got a few blankets to lay over it. The bathroom had clearly recently had a refurbished and looked nice but there were no towel rails or anywhere to put anything in the bathroom except a glass shelf fitted so poorly that everything slid off it to the floor. The furniture was very basic, no comfy chairs or table to rest at with a drink in the room. Only one chair on the balcony that had a filthy floor. Room carpet heavily worn and was not risking going bare foot on it. The room was recently painted so looked fresh but over bed lights dirty with cobwebs and dead flies in, and had someone’s left over lip balm in the drawer so don’t think they were cleaned between guest. No wall art or personality to the room. None of the tea cups at breakfast were completely clean but the breakfast food was generally palatable. Not the hotels fault per se but we had the most noisy and inconsiderate people above us which disturbed the little amount of sleep we did get, very poor sound proofing between floors.
