Tagungshaus Himmelspforten - Self Check-In

Der Veranstaltungsort - Vogel Convention Center (VCC) - ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Absolut ruhige Lage - habe "himmlisch" geschlafen. Leider so lange, dass ich keine Zeit mehr für das Frühstück hatte. Super freundlicher Empfang und hilfsbereites Personal. "Self check-In" beschränkt sich auf "Nachtzeiten". Die Rezeption ist zu "normalen" Arbeitszeiten besetzt.

Der mitgeteilte Code zum Öffner der Tore/Türen besteht aus einer Kombination von 4 Ziffern und einem Buchstaben (F)! Die Eingabetastatur offeriert keine Eingabemöglichkeit für Buchstaben! Meine Intuition bestand darin, an 5. Stelle die Ziffer 3 zu drücken, weil die bei früheren Telefonen das Eingeben des Buchstaben F ermöglichte. Nach etlichen Fehlversuchen (auch 3-maliges Drücken der Ziffer 3, wie es früher einmal für den Buchstaben F üblich war) brachten nicht den erhofften Erfolg. Irgendwann fand ich den versteckten Hinweis, dass man statt des Buchstaben F die Ziffer 1 drücken solle. Das hat dann funktioniert. Warum gibt man aber einen Code aus 4 Ziffer und einem Buchstaben heraus, wenn man dann letztlich einfach 5 Ziffern eingeben soll? Man könnte dann doch gleich den Code mit 5 Ziffern verschicken. Ansonsten alles super!

Ruhig gelegen

Dass es offenbar nicht möglich ist für 2 Personen kurzfristig ein Abendessen zu bekommen

Oasi di pace, con comodo parcheggio, ottima colazione, tranquillissimo e silenzioso. Dal momento che non c'era l'aria condizionata hanno lasciato bottigliette d'acqua a volontà a disposizione dei clienti.

Un po' fuori dal centro ma con una piacevole passeggiata si arriva facilmente. Ci sono anche i bus ma non lo abbiamo preso

This is located in a former monastery and the cloister is the primary feature. The grounds in front of the hotel are pretty. Parking available. Very Quiet. The bathrooms in the rooms are very nice and several WC's located throughout the property (a rarity in Germany).

The entrance to the building is sterile looking and totally uninviting. Rooms are super basic. Although a former monastery used for religious retreats and such, this is a hotel and does not need to be so basic. The breakfast was nothing to write home about. Only a few pieces of meat and cheese available. No boiled eggs even though the container was sitting empty. Only one type of bread and then only a few rolls at that. Could not drink the hot chocolate. The self service machine topped off the hot chocolate with coffee. The stay was okay but would not stay again. Just not impressed.
