The location was good and the staff was very plesant and friendly. Also the room was clean and the bed with comfortable.

For this being rated a "4 star" hotel, we expected a more upscale or trendy boutique environment. Instead the property felt like an upscale hostel. It didn't help that the elevator was under renovation and that all rooms had to be accessed via a back working stairwell. I had actually emailed days in advance to ask for a ground floor room due to large family with kids and strollers not wanting to use stairs - I never received any response. When we arrived, we were assigned to the 4th floor. Had I been told there were no rooms on the ground floor, we would have canceled and booked somewhere else ... this would have been an absolute deal breaker for us. At a minimum, this should be subsidized with a substantial amount of hotel group points. Instead, they room offered a note, a single beer, and a skin oil as a peace offering for the inconvenience (none of which had any value to us nor did we use/take). The room had a piece of the corner floor molding barely attached, which came off when slightly tapped, chipped paint on the toilet and stains on the shower enamel - I would definitely think this was more of a 3 star at best, no where close to expectations of a 4 star.
