The staff stayed late to let me in as I was arriving late. Very helpful. It would have been a nightmare if they weren't so kind!

Wonderful place. Clean residence. Friendly helpful staff. Lovely food.

Après une magnifique marche de 30mn dans un paysage superbe, on arrive à l'auberge en pleine nature sauvage et au départ des plus belles randonnées "montagneuses" de la région de Lake District... A couper le souffle parfois... je recommande la Helvelyn walk 2 Delicieux full english breakfast chaque matin, et diner le soir...

Un meilleur signal Wi-fi dans les chambres si s'est possible, sinon RAS

The staff were so lovely and friendly and the breakfast was great, love a buffet! We didn't get a chance to use the self catered kitchen but it looked fully stocked and some other guests used it and said it was great. There were games available which was lovely and the food and drinks were served until really late which is great for people arriving later in the day.

Honestly the hostel wasn't bad at all. The road to the hostel is a bit crazy, which isn't the hostel's fault at all but we really weren't sure if we were driving the right road. Google maps directed us to some cottages at the start of a winding, stony, single track road and said that is where the hostel is but we had to ask some residents where the hostel was and then some hikers we met along the track if we were going the right way. A simple sign at the start of the track saying "YHA this way" would've been helpful and reassuring. Maybe it was our room but the WiFi didn't work consistently, which isn't a massive issue but was a bit of a problem when we were trying to sort out our maps. Also the only light is the main one, so it was either bright light in the whole room or no light at all.
