Hotel Columbia

The location was absolutely ideal just being a couple of minutes walk from Quattro Canti. Plenty of places to eat nearby. The hotel seems to be a modernised older building and has a really nice feel about it. Staff on reception 24 hours. Breakfast was fine. Good shower, soap, shampoo. WiFi in my room and throughout. Bar available too.

Nothing much. The bathroom floor tended to flood a bit when I used the shower. WC cistern needed a bit of encouragement to fill up again.

I was veey comfortable and it made me feel veey safe as a female solo traveller.

I booked this hotel almost at random, but I could hardly have chosen better. The location is fantastic: right in the centre of Palermo, yet on a quiet street. All the main sights are within walking distance, and there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The bus and train connections to the airport are about a 10-20-minute walk away. The hotel is fairly simple, and the rooms are plainly furnished, but everything was clean and functional. My room was on the third floor overlooking the courtyard. There was a restaurant terrace opposite, but it closed at around 10 p.m., so the nights were quiet. There is no lift in the building but it was no problem for me. The wifi worked well throughout my stay. Breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. and offers a typical Italian selection, including fresh croissants. The reception staff were very helpful. Overall, I was very happy with my stay and would not hesitate to choose this hotel again.

Everything was adequate. Maybe, just to write something, the coffee from the machine (for breakfast) could be better.
