Absolutely loved the old world charm and walking distance to all the attractions. Windows in rooms could be opened for fresh air and some street watching.The place isnt luxurious by modern standards but is one of a kind and highly recommend staying there atleast once

The location is magnificent, the staff is very helpful and kind, and bathrooms are the cleanest I’ve seen in a long time. This stay was perfect for its value!!!

Hotel Lorena has a quaint, traditional Florentine feel, which we really enjoyed. The location is probably its biggest advantage, about a 10-minute walk from Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station and around 10 minutes from the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (Duomo). There are plenty of restaurants, cafés, shops, and a laundry service nearby. We were also given a corner room with a lovely view over the Florence rooftops and toward the Duomo, which I really appreciated. Our room was clean and comfortable, and considering the prime location, I thought the hotel offered very good value for money.

The property is quite dated, particularly the bathroom, although I think that is also part of its old-fashioned local charm. The separate traditional bidet was something I wasn’t used to. The shower area is small and tight, and the mat moved around while the floor seemed to dip slightly in the middle, making it feel a little slippery. There are grab bars, but I would still recommend being cautious. Reception is upstairs, so there are quite a few steps when arriving with luggage. There is an older-style elevator, similar to those found in many historic European buildings, but it is very small and requires manually closing the doors. With two people and our luggage, it was a tight squeeze.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent, with most major attractions in Florence within walking distance. This made it very convenient to explore the city on foot.

The elevator starts from the second floor, so carrying heavy luggage can be challenging. The room quality is average with very basic amenities. There is no kettle, and the TV is very small, similar in size to a small computer monitor. Suitable for a short stay, but expectations should be kept modest.
