The location of the hotel is fantastic with the Chinese district and the beautiful central shopping area in easy walking distance. The staff was very friendly and the beds comfortable.

I am absolutely not sure how this hotel got four stars on booking. The management seems way too kichinbo (cheap) as the Japanese would say, to be rewarded with such praise. The reception area is gorgeous, yet there is no 24 hour coffee stand for example. This would be especially nice, since the rooms have water boilers without any supply of coffee or tea. ( On the second day I noticed that you could pick up some green tea bags at the reception, but no other flavor.) The fridge is equally empty. The management of minimalism is also apparent in the decor of hallways and rooms. This is a high traffic hotel and the carpets in hall-ways and rooms needed updating to easily cleanable flooring years ago. In our room the walls were scruffy, the bathroom tiny and dated. No matter how much the personnel cleans, they cannot recover a sense of clean comfort in the given environment, or cover-up the lack of customer care so obviously handed down by the management.
