The location was right across the street from the entrance to The Shambles and M&S Food. It was a spacious unit with full kitchen facilities and a washer. The bathroom had a bathtub so was able to enjoy a good soak after a long day of walking. The location was very central to the town and all the attractions you would want to visit. Shambles is right across the street, Jorvik Centre is a 4 min walk, York Minster is a 10 min walk and its about a 15-20 min walk to the train station.
There were quite a few stairs to get to the unit. If you have luggage like we did, it was a struggle to get up to the apartment. We had one issue on our last night with the battery for the main building door lock dying, so we were not able to get into the apartment building. We were able to get in contact with the host and they had the maintenance person come out to have it fixed within a half hour. Due to it being an old building, the windows are not very soundproof and in the evening we could hear everyone who was on patio at the pub next door.

Spacious and comfortable and perfect location.
No TV unless you sign up using mobile or laptop and provide credit card details. As we were overseas visitors, access to our streaming services was restricted. Unable to view anything on the TV The dishwasher could not be accessed as kitchen cupboard door that housed dishwasher was stuck shut. Toilet pan is wobbly.

Great location, accommodation lovely, understanding and accommodating hosts, luggage was able to be dropped off early and left till late. Lovely extras thought of, tea, coffee, sugar, milk etc.
Toilet in bedroom had a system problem and was noisy, kept us awake all night, building works albeit needed to restore the historic buildings outside, which is understandable but started at 9.15 am on Sunday morning. So we didn’t on this our first stay here, have the restful and peaceful nights sleep we’d hoped for. Seal on the shower not suitable or apt for the shower, had to put a hand towel down on floor as water soaked the floor.
