This was one of the best accommodation experiences of my life! The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The room was large and comfortable and we all slept so well. The vegetarian kaiseki dinner was among my favourite ever meals. The baths were lovely and relaxing. The location is perfect, walking distance to many must-see sites and a station. Many hotel necessities are provided free of charge. It was such a special experience and I’ll be telling everyone I know to stay here when in Kyoto!

We had booked quite last minute for a Saturday night if a long weekend so it was quite expensive. The room is available for much less at other times though and I certainly don’t regret paying what we did for such a special experience.

The location was very central and close to the food market. Food was amazing, we really enjoyed the beef sukiyaki.

Beds and pillow could have been a little more comfortable but if you double up on the mattress and pillow, it was wonderful!

Japanese style breakfast. Onsen. Friendly, attentive staff.

When we arrived, the staff was so warm and welcoming. They brought our bags up to our room and proceeded to welcome us with green tea and a sweet treat while informing us of all the things we needed to know about our stay. Absolutely outstanding service and accommodation. Breakfast was exceptional! Delicious Japanese style meals that were so satisfying and we got to try a lot of new things we've never had before! It was a peaceful setting, and the staff were extremely warm and helpful despite the language barrier. They spoke enough English that we were able to understand and enjoy the entire experience. It was truly wonderful! Arigatō gozaimasu Watazen!

There was nothing we didn't like - it was a truly wonderful first time experience in Japan!
