We had very good communication with the host prior to our arrival, both in advance and on the day. She was very friendly and answered many questions that I had. The apartment had nice views over fields, with a very large roof balcony for sitting out on. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had a very large fridge freezer. The location was very suitable for sightseeing, hiking and generally exploring this part of Malta - so long as you enjoy a laid-back environment (as we do).
Although the apartment was clean, it was a bit run down and would benefit from some refurbishment. The water supply was a bit erratic, but not a fundamental problem. It would have been helpful to have had a microwave and there was a lack of kitchen knives. However, when we requested a bread knife, the host immediately supplied us with one.
Grocery shopping - especially at weekends - required advance planning (fortunately we were aware of that) and restaurants in the vicinity were limited, with the main one closed on Monday and Tuesday evenings - again requiring plenty of planning.
