We rented a room with balcony which turned out to be a private terrace overlooking the sassi in Matera which was a wonderful surprise. The hotel is at the top of the town. We planned to leave our motorbikes at the nearest parking but it was full and they didn't allow bikes. The hotel turned out to have a room just outside reception which was big enough for our bikes so we parked there for a fee which was great. We had to figure out how to get there without using stairs, which worked out OK. The room was split-level with bedroom upstairs and a living room and bathroom (and the wonderful terrace) downstairs. I would definitely stay here again if I could get the same room. Breakfast was OK. Staff were very helpful.

When we checked out, we were asked how much water we had drunk of the 4 small bottles in the fridge and asked to pay for them. This was the first occasion we had not received at least one free bottle on arrival, so surprising.

Ubicación perfecta desde la cual te puedes mover hacia diversos puntos y a poca distancia. Asimismo, cuenta con diversos restaurantes (sugiero darse una vuelta por aca: L'Acqua Sotto), bares y afines muy cercanos que son muy buenos para diversos tipos de presupuestos. El parqueo comunal a unos 300mts.

Great location, room 115 has a large terrace with a fantastic view over the sassi

This is a hotel of two halves. One side very modern and one side traditional. Unfortunately the traditional side needs attention. Our room was poorly furnished with broken and worn furniture. The terrace was dirty with candle wax on the floor, dirty garden furniture and broken umbrella. The room had a mezzanine which we did know but it was dicey coming down to visit the bathroom during the night. The doors to terrace needed attention, the fly screen was torn, plaster flaking off the walls and on the last day the tap in the bathroom broke and wasn’t fixed so my husband had to have a shave in the down stairs toilet facility. So not a great experience
