Guest house Babaka

Gila, Silvia and the family made us very welcomed in their guesthouse. We were lucky enough to experience grape harvest time which was truly an incredible experience. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was great as was the dinner experience in the family wine cellar.

We had a wonderful two-night stay at Guest House Babaka. The accommodation is simple, but considering the very reasonable price, it offers exceptional value for money. What really makes this place special, however, is the incredible warmth and hospitality of the hosts, Silvia and Gela. They are genuinely kind and welcoming people who make you feel at home. They speak limited English, but with a little help from Google Translate, communication was never a problem. We stayed in a triple room with a private balcony. There is also a small shared kitchen area in the hallway, used by two rooms, with a dining table and everything needed to make coffee or enjoy your own food. It is not equipped for cooking meals, but was perfectly adequate for our needs. One evening, we had dinner with the hosts, which was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, plentiful and varied, and Silvia had also made sure there were vegetarian options for my wife. The meal was accompanied by local wine, with the possibility of enjoying more than one glass. At 100 GEL for two people, it was excellent value. We also enjoyed a visit to the vineyard with Gela. As the grape harvest was approaching, we even got to pick some grapes to take home and press ourselves. He also took us to a nearby monastery and gave us plenty of time to explore. The whole experience cost 100 GEL and was one of the highlights of our stay. Breakfast was delicious too, and on our departure day, Silvia kindly prepared it for us at 7 in the morning so we could leave early for the airport. This is not a place to choose if you are looking for luxury accommodation or modern hotel facilities. But if you appreciate genuine hospitality, authentic local experiences and outstanding value for money, it is a truly special place. We left with wonderful memories and would happily recommend it!

The house is location in a quiet neighborhood and is walkable to the city center. The hosts Gela and Silvia are very warm and hospitable. They make you feel as home as though you are visting a friend. They serve delicious breakfast in the morning. You can also request traditional homemade Georgian food for dinner. The food was authentic and delicious. Gela is also available to provide tours of the region. We went out to see historic sites of Sighnaghi. We also took a tour for grape harvesting and grape crushing. It was an authentic experience without Touristy gimmicks. Highly recommend.
