Hazeldene Guest House

Late booking due to funeral at short notice and price was good especially as breakfast was included. Owner was exceptional, extremely polite & helpful. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and extremely generous & tasty (tables were even laid with cloth napkins). Location also good - just a 10+ min walk to Wetherspoons & town centre after that. Room was comfortable (good comfy bed) but furniture was a bit tired, hence the dropped star. Another bonus was off-road parking at the front. I would definitely use Hazeldene again 👍

The breakfasts were very good different and well cooked and presented, the buffet had the usual but also water with lemons and homemade jams, fruit and yoghurts. But the homemade bread was fabulous. The only fault I could point out was that the duvet was very heavy, which is my preference for a lighter duvet.

I will definitely return to this Hotel . Very clean , very good value for your money , and the Breakfast is to be one of the reasons you stay . Good old fashioned Full Breakfast, with black pudding and Haggis, toast and Orange juice, with tea or coffee. Thanks so much for the warm welcome , see you in 2026.

Good location and clean property with friendly people.
