Victorian House

Beautiful all around experience.

After three long, tough days on the Coast to Coast Walk, we really needed a good B&B in Grasmere, and the Victorian House provided everything we could have hoped for and more! The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was wonderfully quiet overnight, giving us a much-needed chance to rest and recharge. We also enjoyed great views from our top-floor bedroom. The breakfast menu was varied, and everything was well cooked. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, right in the centre of the village and close to the Co-op, which was very convenient for picking up supplies for the next day’s walk. All in all, this was exactly the place we needed! We were delighted with our stay and would happily return. A real treat after a long day on the trail!

Booked a last min break with partner and dog. Paid £99 for a double room with breakfast. Everything was perfect & breakfast restaurant quality. Location is grew and parking is available. The staff were wonderful and even got us some plates and forks for late night cake (which we brought with us). Nothing was too much trouble. Will be returning to stay in the Shepard but at some point as it looks incredible.

Breakfast was nice and cleanliness was very good

The bed was uncomfortable and not a king size as we expected. There was nowhere to sit down with a mirror to do hair and makeup. TV was in a position where you had to sit awkwardly on the bed to watch. The door/window in the bathroom could do with an opaque cover on it so the blind doesn't have to be closed in the daytime making it dark.
