THE JUNEI HOTEL Kyoto

We stayed in the bamboo suite and would highly recommend it. We have traveled the world, and this one was of the best rooms we have ever stayed in. We loved the oversized bathtub, comfortable beds and they have wonderful hair/body/face cleaning products. This is the only hotel that I’ve preferred to use their face wash over my own. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was good, in a quiet neighborhood, and about a 10 minute walk to the bus or metro.

Hotel exceeded our expectations. The hotel was exceptionally clean and beautiful. The staff was amazing. The location was quiet. The stay went above accommodation and was an experience. Would highly recommend.

This is a really nice hotel. Well run with excellent staff. The only thing I’d say for first timers is to be aware that you are about a 25 mins walk from Gion. This is fine but becomes tiresome. The only other thing that was a slight issue was that the air con in our room was very noisy. Again not a big deal but irritating as it switches on and off all night. But otherwise it is a really nice hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at THE JUNEI HOTEL Kyoto. The hotel is beautiful, but what truly made our stay exceptional was the staff. Their warmth, kindness and genuine hospitality were outstanding. Without exaggeration, they were the kindest and most gracious hotel staff we have ever experienced. Our room was beautiful and very spacious, especially the stunning bathroom with its wonderful Japanese bath. We also loved being able to borrow a projector from reception. The only downside was a noticeable damp/mould-like smell in our particular room, which the hotel was aware of. However, the staff handled this exceptionally well and did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. As a generous gesture, we received dinner and a beautiful basket of local delicacies. We highly recommend both breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was authentically Japanese and delicious, while dinner was truly outstanding — a refined menu that we felt was Michelin-star worthy. Despite the issue with the room, we left with wonderful memories and would absolutely return. A huge thank you to the incredible staff for their exceptional care and hospitality!
