Rose and Crown

Excellent stay and the girls on reception and in the bar were excellent, very helpful and kind

We loved our stay at Rose and Crown! The staff were so friendly. Our room had so much character, and was bigger than we would have expected. It was quite comfortable and surprisingly quiet (we were there midweek on a slightly rainy day). We also ate at the pub and really enjoyed our meal. We would stay again!

Nice venue with easy access to the high street

Ok if you don't like quirky, this place might not be for you! But I stayed in a family suite called Juliet and it was fabulous. I'm 6'2 and the door into the suite is maybe 4' high, so I had to stoop down - but that opens up into a really nice, spacious suite - 2 bedrooms and bathroom. The kids bedroom is tiny, but cute, the main bedroom is really well appointed. Again, it's quite a stoop down into the bathroom, but a perfectly decent bathroom with nice stained glass window to one side. Nice and warm, comfy bed, quiet. Some reviews criticise the lack of a TV in the bedrooms - I see that as a positive though! You can watch TV at home, why watch it when you're away? The staff were lovely, very welcoming, and the food in the restaurant was great. I'd recommend :)
