Runway Guest House - Adult Only

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Yvonne and say how great and friendly she was. We had a lovely stay and really appreciated the room upgrade (Brooke appreciated it too). We will deffo book again and will hopefully see you again soon. Thank you. Steph x

Friendly and very helpful host. Accommodated my dietary requirements very well. The optional breakfast is tasty and substantial, which is a big hit with me, and definitely worth paying the extra for. Nice new flooring and carpets throughout. My room was clean but could use an electric socket near the bed (I have advised host on this). Bedside lamps were battery only and ran out of power when I went out for a long evening. This might be only an issue in one room however. Runway is very handy for the centre of town and has a couple of shops within easy walking distance. Parking was OK when I went but might be harder during peak season. Wifi works in bedrooms which is definitely better than most B&Bs in the area. The central heating doesn't work in all rooms (apparently a new pump is needed), but the host did provide a plug-in electric heater which was just about sufficient. Re-decoration is ongoing but the progress seems to be slow, hopefully this will be completed soon as well. The floors have been done throughout and do look nice. The walls, woodwork and banister were still to be done. Host inherited an outdated building and has already invested substantially in the renovations, this is obvious. There is still more to be done though, which with relatively little extra cost will make a big difference. I would be happy to stay again here, and hopefully it will be even nicer once the improvements I mentioned have been done. Overall I can recommend very highly.

We had a brilliant two nights. Room was clean and spotless. To be sincere and truthful, maybe a little paint touching up, a bit of wallpaper coming away from wall, but did not spoil our stay. Its not the Hilton, but service was better. Comfortable bed, loads of toiletries, teat, coffee, biscuits, etc. Yvonne & her son made us very very welcome and we will be back.

Went for 2 nights for the fireworks, ideal location and has parking, very welcoming host Yvonne who does everything to make sure you have an enjoyable stay. The breakfast was cooked to perfection and meant we didn't need to eat till late in the day.
