I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews — this is a great find. Yes it's a bit worn, but it's 'once posh' worn and really not that bad. It's spacious, clean, comfortable and very well priced considering its location.
The ambience in the communal areas could be improved - e.g. there's a fruit machine and big 'don't eat your own food' signs fixed to every table, taking up a large chunk of each table. But, other than that, the lounge is comfortable and is the kind of facility that you wouldn't normally find in a London hotel in this price range.
The check-in process is REALLY slow and inefficient. Best to just see it as part of the old-school charm of the place.

Great location, very easy to get to and close to public transport
While checking in, we were met with a very rude staff member. Threw the pen on the sheet to sign with your details. Re threw the pen when I missed the slot to put my email on. No manners at any point of the conversation. Very poor communication.
