This Terrace house is in the heart of the Glenelg precinct. Close to everything that you could want. The beach, Jetty Road Shopping precinct, Cafes, Hotels, and tourist attractions are all within 200 meters of this location.
THE ACCOMMODATION IS THE UPSTAIRS PORTION of the terrace house and comprises three large bedrooms, lounge/dining/kitchen area, bathroom with shower and claw foot bath, extra vanity and separate toilet. A large decking area contains a full lounge area and barbeque.
The kitchen has full cooking facilities (Oven, Cooktop, microwave and a compact fridge).
Off street parking for one vehicle is available on request.
Bedroom layout is as follows:-
Bedroom 1: King size bed
Bedroom 2: Queen Size Bed
Bedroom 3 : Two single beds and a sofa bed (optional)
This accommodation would suit a family of 4 to 6 people and is child friendly.
(Please note there are internal stairs to access the apartment)

About the Accommodation
The residence is a two storey Terrace House built in 1880. The house was one of the first to be built in the area. A beautiful stone home with lovely balcony/verandah.
The house has undergone extensive renovation and has a large extension to the rear.
You enter the house through the main door at the front of the property which opens into something of a bye gone era. The Victorian decor and original cedar staircase are just something to be seen.
Upstairs is the self contained accommodation. All rooms are reverse cycle airconditioned. The marble fireplaces are just divine.
Bedroom 1 contains a King size bed. Side tables with ipod docks. The bedroom opens up to a lovely verandah off the French doors to the front.
Bedroom 2 contains a Queen size bed. Side tables with ipod dock. This bedroon also opens onto the verandah at the front of the property.
Bedroom 3 contains two single beds and a sofa bed if required. This room contains a wardrobe for hanging.
Linen is provided free with every booking. For extended bookings linen service will be offered.
The upstairs family room, kitchen, dining and decking/bbq area are second to none. A complete kitchen with oven , hotplate, fridge , microwave and coffee machine.
The private decking area allows you to relax on the lounge whilst having a drink or cooking the bbq. You may just want to soak in the northern sun and completely relax on the outdoor lounge.
The bathroom has a very functional layout. Separate toilet, powder room and bathroom containing a cast iron bath, shower and another vanity. This room looks out onto the urban garden.
Internet is available on site.
The house is smoke free.
There is a laundry service upon request (additional cost).
A Bond of $400 is applicable to all bookings. A surcharge of $200 will be charged for using the premises for functions.
Things to do and see!
- Jetty Road Shopping Precinct (only 50 meters away)
- Go to the beach and catch a sunset..( Beach only 50 meters away).
- Go and sit on Colley reserve and watch the people walk by.
- Catch the tram to the city. (Tram stop only 50 meters away.)
- Catch the bus to one of the largest shopping centres in the Southern Hemisphere. (Marion Shopping centre is only 10 minutes away.)
- Take the kids to the Beach House Entertainment venue. Go on the waterslide or have a drive on the dodgem cars!
- Go for a walk along the Glenelg Jetty and see what the fishermen are catching.
- Maybe go for a drive to the Southern Vales Wineries. Its only 25 minutes away.
- Just have a lazy day and sit in one of the many cafes and watch the world go by.

We loved our stay at Hindmarsh House. The property is extremely comfortable and clean, and a pleasure to be in. It’s close proximity to the beach, the cafes and restaurants, and the tram to the city means that its location is perfect.

Great spot to stay for a quick visit to Adelaide. House was excellent and Ben was a great host.

LACKING FULL DISCLOSURE
Whilst the host was absolutely lovely and very easy to communicate with, we were disappointed to discover that we were unable to fully secure our section of the accommodation.
An elderly person resides in the lower half of the house, which in itself was not an issue. However, carers or other visitors attended the property several times each day. As there was no way to lock off or secure our area independently, we felt uncomfortable knowing that others could access the property while we were away.
This also created an ongoing parking issue. Visitors to the downstairs resident frequently parked in our designated car space. On several occasions, when we returned to the property, we had to contact the host, who then had to ask the visitor to move their vehicle before we could park.
The listing's "laundry service upon request (additional cost)" was also somewhat misleading. We had expected this to be a separate laundry facility or service, but the "request" involved accessing and using the downstairs resident's laundry. This made the accommodation feel more like a shared living arrangement than a fully self-contained property, which wasn't what we expected for the price.
The lighting throughout the accommodation was also quite poor, making the space feel darker than anticipated.
That said, the accommodation is in an excellent location, the heating and cooling worked well, and we otherwise enjoyed our stay.
