House is located on a beautiful private inlet on the WARM/Private side of Lake Anna. Water depth is 2-4 ft depending on the time of year/what the power plant is doing. We have no problem bringing jet skis right up to the deck/beach/seawall. Community marina is less than 2 blocks away with free day slips for your use.
9/8/26 - Dominion Power Plant has a scheduled 8 week shut down that will result in lower water levels - boat access could be limited to the community marina depending on water depth

We had a great time at Lake Anna. The house was new, nice, clean and had lots of kitchen supplies. The Lake was lower than usual so the water was very shallow in front of the home, but you could still kayak or SUP out to deeper water. If you want to get a boat it would not work. The water was super warm, we were there the 1st week in July and the water was 92 degrees. There were 2 fridges, 1 up and 1 down. There was 1 oven. Some of the beds were memory foam and some were plush mattresses. Bedrooms- Upstairs: 2 bedrooms - 1 very nice sized with king bed and attached bath with tub/shower, 1 with king bed, 2 twins, trundle under 1 twin, crib, attached bath with shower. Main floor 4 bedrooms, Master with king bed attached bath with double sink and shower, 2 bedrooms with king beds with shared bath between, 1 bedroom with king bed - no bathroom. Basement - 3 bedrooms, 2 with king beds with attached Beths with tub/showers. 1 Bedroom with King, queen, 2 twin bunks and 1 double bunk and attached bath with separate sink area from toilet and tub/shower. There is 1/2 bath on main floor. Super nice outdoor deck with comfy furniture. Living room has 1 couch and 1 loveseat, 2 tables with about 18 chairs. Downstairs has a TV with couch, chair, football and air hockey. Small game room for the kiddos. They had quite a few kayaks, SUPs and 1 paddleboat, they also had several life jackets of various sizes. We had dinners catered by a couple of local caterers.

The host was quick to respond. The property was large and very clean. The kitchen is well stocked.. There is plenty of space for people to spread out and also a lot of common areas to hang out. The kitchen and back deck were amazing. The pond was very low and muddy. There is a sandy area for kids to play but there is a sea wall to climb over. They had kayaks and paddle boards that got some use. The fire pit was also a hit.

This is an extremely family-friendly property. Our family included a 12-month-old to through seniors, and we all had a great time. The deck off the main living area was fantastic. Our host, Karlene, was very responsive.

The house is as-advertised, but be careful as it is on the private side of the lake. The listing says it has a private boat slip, which is fine if you have your own boat. Except if you do not, then you have to drive to the public side of the lake in order to rent one, and spend the day over there. So it leaves a much different overall experience from actually getting a house on the public side of the lake with a dock and you can actually keep the boat at the house for the entire stay.In addition, the house was not cleaned/ready by 4PM as advertised. There was some communication confusion between the host and the cleaners, and they only started cleaning our house at 4 PM and didn't finish until after 7 PM. The host gave me a refund of about 2% of the rental price, which seemed trivial.Finally, guests are required to buy the insurance. I did not think anything about this until after the trip I got an email indicating that the host had exercised the insurance policy. So I messaged the host to inquire, and was told that one of the puck-holding trays on an air hockey table was broken off, and the host sent a picture. I was not aware that our group had even tried to use the air hockey table and the host freely admitted that it might have been another group because in the picture it looked like it had been taped. This sounded fishy, so since they were going to get a new one from the insurance, I "offered" to pick up the broken one, but they declined. Seems fishy.
