When you look at the amenities this home and the state park offer together you will realize no other vacation rental home even comes close, especially at this price.
An ideal haven for family, friends, corporate retreats, social events, weddings, church groups, and nature lovers alike. This versatile home promises a welcoming space secluded in nature.
Due to the home's large size (3 stories, 5 bedrooms, 6 1/2 bathrooms, movie theater, 5 sleeping sofas, etc.) we no longer allow pets. This is because of the extra time it takes to do all extra cleaning when a pet has been in the home.
The homes top entrance level is handicapped friendly with entrance ramp. All doors are 36 inch wide and the walk-in master shower is approximately 5 by 8 feet. You will have your own private wooded cove and dock.
The House has:
- 6 bedrooms (4 are suites), 6.5 bathrooms; sleeps up to 20 guests
- The 4 suites have their own private bathroom and deck
- NO BUNK BEDS
- Private Dock can store two boats
- Two kayaks, two canoes, paddles and life vests come with the rental of the home.
- massive 14x30 feet movie theater screen—perfect for gaming enthusiasts with its
provision for bringing your own PlayStation, Xbox and games.
Nestled within the scenic 2000 acre Lake Norman State Park, the home offers unparalleled access to nature with:
- 38 miles of hiking trails
- 30.5 miles of mountain biking trails
- 13 miles of shoreline
- Fishing (state permit required)
- Public Swimming Area, largest on the lake, Bathhouse, showers, lockers, snack bar
- 3 large picnic shelters
- 1 Family camping area
- 3 Group camping sites
- Community Building furnished kitchen, chairs & tables for 100 people, alcohol ok
with a permit
- Visitor Center with Auditorium and Classrooms
- Ranger led Nature Hikes
- Canoe and Paddle Boat rentals
- Free Public Boat Launch
The forested Lake Norman State Park that surrounds you has the largest public swimming area on Lake Norman, The swimming area has changing rooms, lockers, showers, snack bar and life guards. The public swimming area is a 3 minute drive or a 45 minute hike from the home.
The Community Building is less than 2 miles from your home and can be rented for $198 per day. It will hold 150 standing people and 90 people seated. 90 folding chairs and 18 large rectangle tables are provided with the rental. The faciality has men and women bathrooms and a large furnished kitchen with a huge free standing ice maker. There is also private parking and a large stone fireplace. Alcohol can be served by getting a Special Activities Permit. The Community Building is ideal for weddings, family reunions and business meetings.

The park's quite hours are from 9:00 pm until 9:00 am. These quite hours are enforced by the park rangers.
Mountain bikes can be rented in Statesville which is 9 miles away.
Wine tours of the local vineyards are also available.
The owner, Jack Greene, was the former Western District Naturalist for 14 years and can lead free nature hikes for your group. He has also led nature tours to 17 countries, including 15 African safaris. Jack has been a naturalist on cruise ships on Alaska's Inside Passage and on the Columbia River. Other places he has led groups to are New Zealand, Newfoundland, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Thailand, Malaysia, France, England, Netherlands, Mexico and many others. If you would like to discuss with him putting together an nature tour or a wine tour for your group, just let him know.
We are not responsible for any power outages, hurricanes, storms or any other natural or manmade disasters nor when Duke Energy lowers the lake level impeding boat docking.
If you bring a pet, check out time is 9 a.m. not 10 a.m. to give the house keepers more time to clean. Do not let your pet(s) get on the furniture! The home has leather couches on which you pet will leave scratches. Pet hair on beds, couches and lines require lots of additional cleaning.
Pet fees: $300 per dog per stay, 2 dogs maximum, Weight limit per dog is 20 lbs. or smaller. Check out time for those who bring pets is 9 am, not 10 am.
You must be at least 25 years old to rent the home.

My family and I had an exceptional time at the chalet this past weekend celebrating my 60th birthday. There was so much space and the host provided so much more than we expected. There was plenty of linen and blankets and pillows and towels and the kitchen was stocked with so many supplies that we hardly needed to bring anything other than the food. The host replied immediately to any and all of my messages. It was an easy check-in and checkout process.I would advise to bring bug spray because we did experience, fire ants outside or red ants whatever they are, and we also had gnats inside the house like a whole slew of gnats in the lower bedrooms. I think it just has to do with the time of year and also being on the lake.Regardless, we will definitely look to reserve this home again if our host is agreeable. Also, we get lots of exercise going up and down those three flights of stairs.

Great house for relaxing and gathering with loved ones. Check-in process was very smooth and the property had a number of gathering areas for games and activities. We also loved the number of options in the kitchen like multiple air fryers and Keurig.
