It was very exciting to stay in one of the first Fixer-Uppers! Charmaine and Dave responded to our questions quickly and even brought a new coffee pot for us coffer drinkers!!!

Please do not make the mistake we made. We rented this house a week ago (mid July) for my family to celebrate my husband’s 80th birthday. Many weeks of planning went into this weekend. We rented this house so all my family could be together (since we live in different cities). The description says 5 bedrooms (sleeps 12). The third floor bedroom had no air conditioner (the window unit was broken). The four bedrooms on the second floor were 84 degrees by the first evening. The air conditioner worker came out to check out the units and said the units are not adequate to cool the house when we have 100+ degree days. The owner offered, late in the evening to move us to two houses. The whole point was to be together. Four adults slept on a blow up mattress and couch on the first floor. Our Granddaughter and her family couldn’t stay because it was too hot for the baby. We only stayed one night. The owner gave a partial refund for the second night, but that does not make up for the time we lost celebrating this milestone. I would not recommend renting this house in the hot summer months. Nice place except for the air conditioning, that is why I gave it a 3 rating.
