The apartment was easy to find, quiet and quite big. It was a 15-20min walk from the castle and city center. There's a big supermarket 5min from there. The futons were quite thin but surprisingly comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped.

Old but clean, well-renovated large apartment. Good facility (more than enough utensils, toothbrushes, towels) to keeps us going.
It's close to the city centre but it definitely requires a car to do any sightseeing.
There are no elevators so we need to work on the stairs to climb 2 floors.
The unit is SUPER close to the rail track which there are constant trains moving before 1am and after 5am. Don't rent this place if you are a light sleeper.

We were looking for a clean and roomy flat at an affordable price and we were not disappointed. The location is a little bit outside of the centre but still within walking distance from Matsumoto station and Matsumoto castle. We also liked the traditional Japanese room with tatami mats. The host was also responsive whenever we asked questions.
The futon mattresses in the traditional Japanese room might feel a bit thin for those who are not used to sleeping on the floor. For some reason, we couldn't get the sound on the TV to work. Adding a sofa to the living space would improve the comfort of the stay.

Niet heel duur
Oud. Afgelegen. Airco’s konden niet tegelijk aan omdat dan de stroom uit zou vallen.
