Art Karakoy Hotel

Lage war sehr gut für Städtetrip. Zimmer hatten keinen modrigen Geruch was mir sehr wichtig ist. Für die paar Nächte hat es gepasst. Der Herr an der Rezeption war sehr nett und gab uns einen guten Tipp fürs Abendessen.

Duschkopf war etwas defekt. Wasser spritzte in alle Richtungen. Klobrille locker. Bett klapprig. Tk-Fach total zugeeist. Fenster sehr schmutzig. Bilder schauen schöner aus als es wirklich ist. Klimapaneel ließ sich nicht bedienen. Der Herr an der Rezeption versuchte das zu beheben. Erst gings, dann wieder nicht. Dann wurde versprochen es kommt jemand. War aber nicht so. Dieses Thema hat uns 3 Abende beschäftigt. Die letzte Nacht war es dann ok.

Everything was perfect. Everyone was very friendly and helped us with anything we needed. The rooms were very clean. Thank you again! 😊 Also the location was excellent!

The views from the rooms at 9th floor and at 7th floor are nice.

Honestly, I don’t understand how this hotel has a 9.1 rating. In my opinion, it is no more than a 7, and I was very disappointed with my stay. 1.- The walls of our triple room (which is supposedly one of their better rooms) were covered with blood stains from squashed mosquitoes. It was simply disgusting. 2.- They forgot to clean our room on the second day of our stay, and when we returned at night, it was extremely unpleasant to find the beds unmade, wet towels, and no fresh water or toilet paper. I do want to emphasize that the young man at reception was very kind, apologized for the situation, and personally did everything he could to resolve the issue that evening. However, this situation should have been completely avoidable, especially since we had already reported the blood stains on the walls that morning. 3.- The building and the rooms in general are old and dated. The elevator barely fits three people, so if you are traveling with luggage, you have to make several trips. In addition, during our stay, the elevator broke down for a few hours, which meant we had to walk all the way up to the 9th floor. 4. The streets surrounding the hotel. While it is true that the hotel is only about a 5-minute walk from Galata Bridge and around 7 minutes from Galata Tower, the surrounding streets are not pleasant at all. They are dirty and poorly maintained, and at night they feel quite deserted. I’m aware this is not responsibility of the hotel but I would have appreciated to stay in a nicer street even though if I would have to walk a little bit more to main highlights (which is not necessary as Galata is full of hotels) 5.-Overall value for money: This was my second time in Istanbul, so I am convinced that you can find better value for a similar price.
