Staff on arrival were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Room had great soundproofing, and hotel was in a brilliant location. We were staying for the Chicago Marathon, and the hotel very kindly put out fruit and water for everyone on race day.
Staff on departure were less helpful.

Great location and easy to walk to a lot of stores and restaurants, loved the restaurant downstairs with the breakfast buffet, nice lobby area and nice staff
Got a lot of street noise from the highway next to the hotel so I had to use earplugs to sleep.

From the get go, the staff was great. The were available, friendly and attentive. We had issues with the new parking lot system and they were quick to help. This was a last-minute reservation due to the original place cancelling our reservation and it was a welcome relief walking into the lobby and immediately being asked, "How can we help you?"
The restaurant in the hotel may have the best pastrami I've ever had. Plus, very close to Pink and Green lines (loop)!
New parking lot gate system (separate management) still has some bugs in it.

The property is in a good location, the rooms were large and clean. The hotel is just pretty old. The ceilings are low, it’s dark, the colors are brown, and it just comes across as needing an update. Staff was great very friendly.
The property is super close to the highway so you have highway noise, sirens, all day and night. It lightens up in the night but always there. The hotel is dark and comes across as outdated. The hotel gym was small, dark with low ceilings and not a place I wanted to spend time in. I went outside for a walk instead.
