Sugar Hill Inn

Very quaint historical building. Chris was pleasant and attentive. Wonderful location to be getting your fall foliage tour.

The rooms on the upper floors are not easily accessible for people with mobility problems. What’s in the rooms, the floors were slanted. for us, it was a fun funky experience, but it’s not for everybody.

The property was just a short distance off the highway north of Franconia Notch Park. The building was built in the late 1700s and is an amazing shape for its age. The in keeper seems very focused on creating a relaxing environment for his customers with simple amenities like fresh cookies and hot coffee throughout the day. The dinner menu is not real exhaustive but the selections were fantastic. Same for the breakfast menu. Several unusual combinations that were absolutely delicious! The innkeeper was very helpful in contacting us when we had left several personal items behind. Quite often when we’ve traveled and realize we left something behind, the response we get is that housekeeping never found our items. That wasn’t the case here because where we thought we left our items wasn’t the case and the housekeeping people here made sure that the owner was aware of their finding and he contacted us several times so that we could reconnect and pick up our belongings.

Rural area close to some cute small towns

Sadly, the place is in need of a lot of TLC (care) It is in need of a cosmetic overhaul- fresh paint and sense that the people who own it care and have pride in their property. The reviews all highlighted the breakfast, which, indeed, was the best part of the In. Offerings

The location is excellent.

The room we booked was in poor condition that did not look like the photos. The dresser had a chunk of wood out of it, the curtains were ripped, blinds were broken and there was a stain on the couch. The bathroom had frozen pipes and we were told that we could use another bathroom in the main building. We received another room only upon my mention that I noticed was available on the website. It’s too bad because this used to be a very lovely Inn.
