Food: the food selection at the buffet is quite varied (although I often found some of the hot food to be lukewarm). I went to the snack bar for breakfast and lunch as the buffet selection can become mundane after a few days. The dinner I ate one evening at the al la carte restaurant was by far the best during my stay. The crepes served from the food truck in the afternoon were delicious. Amenities: I liked the smaller boutique style of this hotel and the fact the hotel is divided into small sections/areas each connecting to a different pool area so sunbeds were relatively available, perhaps due to the time of the year and the hotel not being at full capacity. The hotel is modern and well maintained and I thought the gym was impressive. My room was cleaned thoroughly every day. Staff: I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. I had read mixed reviews about the staff so either I was lucky with the staff I encountered or the feedback previously provided in reviews had been taken on board. Location: the hotel is located down a quiet street about 10 minutes walk from the ‘strip’ if you are looking for supermarkets, pharmacies, local shops etc. I understand Laganas is super busy during the summer months, it is much quieter this time of the year and a lot of places were closed for the season.

Drinks: I appreciate this is entirely subjective however I agree with other reviews that the drinks selection for a 5 star all inclusive hotel is slightly amiss. I understand most (if not all) the alcoholic drinks are local brands so be warned if that you are looking for well known brands, these come at an extra cost. There are cats and wasps everywhere (nothing the hotel can do about the latter) but I felt (and sensed I wasn't alone) a bit uncomfortable at mealtimes as the cats would jump onto the chairs etc. The staff seemed unfazed and (at least from what I could see) did nothing about it.

die ersten zwei Tage war das Essen immer kalt, als der Chefkoch zu gegen war, war das tolle Essen auch warm und es schmeckte noch besser, Bedienungen nicht so freundlich, wenn man sich Betankt hat oder grüßte kam selten was zurück und auch kein lächeln, Potenzial nach oben, viele Katzen beim Essen, sprangen auch auf dem Tischen und Stühle und wurden sogar von Gästen gefüttert, sollte man in einem angeblichen fünf Sterne Hotel nicht tun, da hatten wir auf Kreta ein besseres zum vergleich, Liegen wurden Früh mit Putzmittel gereinigt und von der Sonne getrocknet, wer früher dran war musste selber Trocken reiben, auch wenn man das an der Beanstandet hat und ein Tuch wollte, musste es man selbst machen.......

Overall hotel looked nice and probably was one of the nicest looking in that area. The bar staff was lovely.

Disappointing Experience – Not What You Would Expect from an All-Inclusive Luxury Hotel From the moment we arrived, the experience felt underwhelming and certainly not what we expected from a hotel presenting itself as a luxury, all-inclusive property. The welcome at reception was very basic. There was no refreshment offered on arrival, no concierge or member of staff available to help with our suitcases, and no genuine effort to make us feel welcomed after our journey. Nobody even asked how our flight was or how our journey to the hotel had been. We had to wheel our own luggage to the room in the heat, which was particularly disappointing for a hotel positioning itself as a luxury property. The biggest disappointment, however, was the “all-inclusive” concept. The hotel advertises itself as all-inclusive, but in reality, the drinks offering was extremely limited. The only alcoholic drinks included were local, unbranded spirits, and they tasted extremely diluted and weak. You could barely taste any alcohol at all. If you wanted better-quality drinks or certain cocktails, you had to pay extra. Cocktails such as the Negroni, Apple Spritz and other premium cocktails were not included. Even coffee was inconsistent, with some coffees included and others requiring an additional charge. For an all-inclusive hotel, I would expect at least a reasonable selection of branded or premium alcoholic drinks, particularly considering the price of the stay. Instead, it felt more like a very basic drinks package. Another major disappointment was the lack of unlimited bottled water. Sparkling water was not included, and you would only receive one bottle of still water in the room when it was cleaned. If you wanted more, you had to go to the water dispensers and fill your bottle yourself using the water coolers. This is not what I would expect from an all-inclusive luxury hotel, where unlimited still and sparkling water should be a basic offering.
