We had a lovely week in Stevenson as a family of 4. The location of this property is right on the water, with a stunning view of the gorge. We loved sitting outside the deck in the mornings and early evenings, and ate dinner outside one night. I wish we had done this more actually, the picnic table was perfect for summer dining al fresco! The hosts were extremely thoughtful and the house was well appointed with everything we'd need, especially in the kitchen. Loved the grill as well. The host was responsive and communicative, making sure we had absolutely everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The only downsides I can think of are 1) the bedrooms are a bit small and 2) the house is right by the train tracks. I found it hard to sleep the first night, but then I got used to it, and the hosts were also thoughtful enough to provide earplugs and to mention this very clearly in the review, so it wasn't a surprise. Overall, I have nothing but wonderful memories from our week in Stevenson, and would recommend this property to others,

Amazing place but the train took getting used to.
The property is amazing with beautiful views. It was very clean and well maintained.
Only negative was the proximity to the busy train tracks - which I guess is all along the gorge.
Owners were very responsive. Thanks!

Thank you Kristi for sharing your beautiful home with us ! This was a fun family reunion and your home accommodated all of us in such a magnificent setting. We had views of the Gorge, windsurfers, and the Bridge of Gods all from the porch ! Enjoyed playing games, eating outside, fishing from the shoreline and searching for special rocks and colored glass with our grandson. We were just a brief walk from the many delicious eating places in Stevenson. Couldn't have asked for a better setting for our vacation !!!!

Excellent all the way around!
From initial communication, to pre-stay details and planning, to the experience itself - this was fantastic! The property was clean and well maintained. Location in the small town of Stevenson, WA on the river and with close access to all sorts of outdoor activities was phenomenal. Whitewater rafting, hiking to waterfalls, kayaking, segway tour, kite surfing viewing ... lots to do in the area and we were happy to call this place home while we explored. Recommended!

Fascinating, Relaxing, and Fun!
Our family group included my husband and me, our daughter and son-in-law and their two little girls, ages 1 and 3, and for two of the days, our grown son and his girlfriend. We were drawn to the property for its location close to hiking and lots of brew pubs, but what we discovered was the magnificence of the Columbia River. None of us were quite prepared for the fascinating and spectacular scenery, history, and "goings-on" in this area. The trains captivated our granddaughters (and, okay, I admit it, the rest of us, too, once we got used to them, which really did not take very long!) and the barge and boat commerce on the river was ever so interesting. The little beach at the house made for fun splashing for the little girls, and hunting for sea/river glass became a daily activity. Although we did get some great hiking time in, we also found the Bonneville Dam and Fish Ladders so worth a visit. Hood River found us at the Playground and at many of the breweries, and the trip up RT 14 to that neat little town was always enjoyable. I did not know this when we booked the house, but the Maryhill Museum is only about an hour away, and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to see the Theatre de la Mode exhibit! We also found little Stevenson to be a fun town, with some lovely shops and a grocery store with some of the friendliest employees ever! We were very appreciative to Kristi who provided our daughter with the name of a wonderful babysitter, whose services enabled the adults to have some evenings out! All in all, we were so comfortable in the house, and we were all so happy for the chance to experience the Columbia River Gorge in ways we never could have imagined.

My family (2 adults and 3 teens) stayed here for 12 days with ample space for all. The home has views of the Columbia River and Bridge of the Gods that will knock your socks off. If you are a kite surfer or wind surfer this is a wonderful place to be. If not, the hiking trails will keep you busy. The location is in the center of hundreds of hikes (with waterfalls) in Oregon and Washington. There are mineral baths nearby to relax your muscles after a long day of hiking. Everything is at your fingertips here. The town has great restaurants and breweries and cafe's just a block or two away. The grocery store just a few blocks away had everything we needed as well.
The home is modern, clean, very well stocked, and wonderfully maintained. Many backyard spaces to watch the activity on the river, dine outdoors, or just practice some yoga. Around the house are well placed lavender bushes, rosemary bushes and other beautiful plants, one feels compelled to be outdoors and is rewarded with the fragrances of the plants and trees around the home. While we were there, my son even befriended a family of ducks that he fed in the evenings after he collected many beautiful pieces of sea glass on the beach that is on the property.
The owners are helpful, attentive, but not intrusive. It was very easy to book this home and the security deposit was refunded quickly after our stay.
This is a storybook place. We will return and recommend this home to others.

Spectacular Waterfront Home and Views!
We are so thankful you shared your beautiful home with our family! We thought we had an idea how nice the accommodations and views would be from the online pictures, but we were blown away seeing it in person. The house had everything we needed and the views are breathtaking. The furnishings are stylish and comfortable and the kitchen is very well stocked. There is plenty of outdoor seating in both sun and shade to capitalize on the spectacular setting and for watching all the sailing activities on the river. Stevenson is centrally located in the Gorge and close to all the popular sites, hiking, waterfalls, and wineries we visited each day. We also enjoyed walking to and eating at many of the local restaurants and breweries. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return!

Longing to Return
The moment you step into the house, the view draws you to the window! The Columbia River Gorge in all its glory beckons you from a wall of windows. You pull up a chair and think you have entered paradise. A Craftsman style, the house offers so much. Four bedroom, two bathrooms, and every amenity that a guest could need. I was pleasantly surprised. They even provided purified water in the fridge. With two bedrooms upstairs, one on the main floor and another in the furnished basement, the house allows for privacy even for a larger party. Two decks and a lovely yard full of wildflowers draw you out onto the patio and chairs. As disclosed, the train tracks are nearby, and they travel by often. Still, I found it enjoyable, and we slept closest to the tracks. Get ready for a little "rockin and rollin". The home provides earplugs, but if a guest sleeps light, they may want to reconsider their home choice. We met for a sibling reunion, so we spent days on the bikes on the Old Columbia Historic Highway and the Twin Tunnel trails. I wish I could go back and forget the bikes, and just sit on the deck for one more hour. Absolutely beautiful! Kristi was the best owner I've worked with on VRBO. Prompt, polite, and professional.

Our group of 7 stayed in this lovely Stevenson river house for 3 nights over labor day weekend. It is one of only a few properties on the water which is surprisingly rare for the area. Our concern was being a bit far from hood river, but we ended up loving the smaller town and the 20 min drive into Hood river was beautiful. Lots of hiking, water sports, wine tasting etc.. near by and most importantly, beautiful river and mountain views from the house. We would definitely go back.

Lovely House - unbeatable view
My husband is a wind surfing enthusiast so the Columbia gorge is a great place for us to vacation. He enjoys the windsurfing and we all enjoy the many other activities available in the area. The house is lovely, fresh and clean with an absolutely beautiful view. It provides a perfect spot to relax in the sun and read a book with direct access to the water for swimming. The house is equipped with every amenity we could want. Our family has been there twice with our three teenage children and we would be happy to return again.

Amazing View Home - Perfect Setting on the water
We had the best time staying here for our Memorial Day vacation. The panoramic views from the house are amazing and the central location is great. We were able to windsurf and paddle board right from the property. It's also close to hiking and walking distance to all the Stevenson shops, restaurants, and breweries. The house is beautiful and had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. We will be coming back again.

Relaxing View
My husband and I plus our son and his wife enjoyed this well planned house. The view relaxed us all. It was quiet and beautiful. We even got into tracking the trains and their cargo. Stevenson is a nice small town to explore. We took drives up to Maryhill and over to the Airplane Museum in Hood River. There is a lot do around. We usually just drive straight thought the Gorge so it was so nice to stay and explore.

Columbia River House
We'd highly recommend this house for anyone looking to enjoy the natural beauty of the Gorge with family or friends. The location is very private with direct access to the Columbia River, as well as a 2 minute walk to Bob's Beach park (major windsurfing launch spot). The house configuration was perfect for multiple families and all of the amenities were in great shape. The multiple decks gave amazing views but were also sheltered from the strong Gorge winds. We walked into Stevenson to check out brew pubs, ice cream store and other small town sites...very relaxing place. Owners of the house were incredibly responsive and professional!

Beautiful home and amazing views
We had the best time staying here for our weekend vacation. The house is just as beautiful as the pictures and then some. The views from the house are amazing and the location is great. There is so much to do in the area. We were able to go whitewater rafting, hiking and exploring around Stevenson. The house was big enough for our 8 people group and had everything we needed. We all had such a wonderful time will be coming back again.

Views are Amazing
We two adult (60's) couples stayed for 3 nights. The house is as beautiful as the pictures show. The experience is better than the pictures because the river and mountains are constantly changing with the light. The house is super clean with all new appliances in the kitchen. There are plenty of utensils and dishware so no need running the dishwasher every meal. The house feels spacious in the living room and eat-in kitchen. The bedrooms are small but since there were only 4 of us we spread out among 3 bedrooms with our gear. Kristi was enormously helpful and friendly throughout booking and our stay. We felt welcomed. Kristi responded very positively when I made a small suggestion upon leaving. The train is right across the small lane from the house and we liked it there. It added to the overall sense of place where the train rumbles and toots along the rivers. None of us lay awake because of it. Stevenson is a sleepy town which also suited us. Hood River is about a 23 minute drive. We will definitely consider renting this house again if we return to the Gorge with family and/or friends.

Stevenson Weekend
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home on the gorge. The views from this home are more beautiful facing south, than those in Hood River, facing north. We ate at some of the local restaurants and enjoyed the cute little town of Stevenson. We really loved all the flowers and landscaping around the home. The interior was clean and decorated nicely. There was so much available to do around the area: we did some hiking at Beacon Rock, walking along the waterfront trail, swimming in the gorge, exploring the train tracks, etc. We had young kids with us, and grandparents, and this place had something for everyone! Thanks again!

We rented this house thre...
We rented this house three weeks last summer. We chose Stevenson as it is a great base for a Gorge vacation. Everything was as advertised--this place will not disappoint. The home is very clean and high standing, with open space and vaulted cielings, great privacy, and magnificient views of the water and Columbia gorge scenery. Few places in the Gorge are right on the water with private beach, yet pretty much in town. We loved being able to walk to the cafes and breweries for a dinner or lunch out, or just stay at home to enjoy the deck, and outside waterfront living. We windsurfed right out of the house, or drove a few minutes to the Hatchery or Doug's. On hot "nuking" days when we had sailed East, it was so nice to come home to Stevenson and enjoy a cooler evening and quiet winds, with a sip of wine on the patio. We will definitely come back.
