We enjoyed our Yellowstone trip more than any previous times. Shirl and her property manager Dorothy made our stay perfect; all questions preceding our arrival were promptly answered and during our stay. We saw elk, an eagle, and daily from the back porch over the Yellowstone river and watched big horn sheep through the spotting scope they had set up in the house. There were delicious scones on the table so didn't have to run out our first morning for breakfast or coffee. We had 5 adult couples and all found their rooms with ensuite bathrooms to be most convenience and excellent for their privacy. We would definitely stay with Shirl again. We found the north entrance to the park to be less crowded and more animals to observe. Thank you for sharing your very special home.

This was a great house for our children and grandchildren as we celebrated my husband’s retirement. The location to Yellowstone National Park was very convenient and we were able to walk to nearby restaurants. The house had beautiful artwork throughout. I loved the large dining table that was like a shadow box full of artifacts. Every bedroom had their own bathroom, each was unique with rustic decor. The kitchen had everything we needed for meals at home. Dorothy was great to work with and very attentive with any problems that came up. The best part was the wildlife we could see from the deck overlooking the River.

Property is amazing and so is the host! Walked in to a lovely note, fresh flowers and delicious scones. We traveled from the east coast, so bring well stocked was so important to us! Beds were comfy. Plenty of towels. Gorgeous views. We saw elk right outside within an hour of our stay.
Location was perfect for bars, dinner, shopping, etc. View from the house could not be better. We were a party of 8 adults. We could easily spend time together or spread out. I could go on and on, def recommend this property!!!

Right on the banks of the Yellowstone River. Perfect for fishing and viewing wildlife. On the edge of the town of Gardiner, the North entrance to Yellowstone Park. All the conveniences of a small, friendly, town, with total privacy. Having five bedrooms ALL with their own private bath was an amazing convenience.
Highly recommended. Dorothy the property manager was outstanding. Would definitely stay here again.

I can't find the words to describe our experience. The house is amazing. Its location was absolutely perfect: We could walk out the front door each day and were across the street from a bar and grill, a pizza place, and more. The Gardiner Market was a short walk down the street, plus we could walk over the bridge and do some shopping with Roosevelt Tour in our view. The best part, though, was stepping into the beautiful home. While all things convenient were in front, the view from the back made it feel like we were in the wilderness. It was such a contrast! I can still hear the sound of the Yellowstone River (we slept with the bedroom windows each night). Sitting on the deck, looking at the mountains, and getting a glimpse of wildlife made it feel like we never left the park. We made a fire at night as we sipped wine and listened to the river: So peaceful!
The house well-stocked and had so many tiny touches,I don't want to spoil them, other than to say I've stayed at a lot of VRBOs with great hosts, but never one so thoughtful as this one. It was so spacious with everyone able to spread out (great after long days together).
In addition to visiting sections of the park each day, we worked with the Flying Pig (same street as the house, about 10 min walk) on three excursions: Rafting, horseback ride, and "Cowboy Cookout" and Fly Fishing. We couldn't have been more pleased with their service and fun style.
It was a magical experience we will dream about!

This property was hands down our favorite VRBO stay. Not only was it perfectly located to the north entrance of YS, it was clean, beautiful and great working with Dorothy and Shirl.
We highly recommend this place and would stay there again ourselves. So beautiful!!

Yellowstone was my husband’s “bucket list“ and the trip was amazing! This home is very close to the North entrance and is perfect for large families. We range in age from 3 months to 70 years old and all of us were very comfortable. The pictures from the deck on the website do not do it justice. The view is incredible. We really enjoyed morning coffee watching the animals come down from the mountain. Plus the kids had a great time waving to all the rafters as they floated by. And Dorothy - the house manager - was wonderful! She had bubbles and treats for our family on arrival and brought more goodies mid way! You will love the home and all that they do & have done to make it special!

A wonderful home in an amazing location. I could not recommend this home more. Comfortable and well equipped. The artwork is outstanding and adds to the ambience of this spot perched above the Yellowstone River and overlooking the park. Convenient location in town with easy access to all that Gardiner has to offer as well as entry into the park. Dorothy was so attentive to our needs and proactive in making sure we took full advantage of everything on offer to us. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Wonderful house that accommodates large families. Ours was a party of twelve and this place is absolutely beautiful. The kitchen has everything you need with perfect bedrooms with their own baths. The scenery is so pretty from the back with plenty of windows to see a piece of Yellowstone with Elk. Walking distance of downtown Gardiner. The owner is a pleasure to work with for booking online and has her visitors totally in mind. If we get back that direction again we would definitely stay there again if available. Wanda July 2021

We had a wonderful time - the property was perfect for us. The kitchen is full-sized with great appliances - we love to cook at home and this was perfect for us with our larger group. The grocery store is within walking distance as are more shops/restaurants and the park is within a 5 minute drive. The sound of the river is unparalleled and can only be appreciated by being so close to it. We did not get to appreciate that when we have been to Gardiner and stayed at a different property. The home is unique with so much stone and wood - it has a cozy vibe with beautiful artwork by the hosts throughout. Shirl was also thoughtful to provide us local coffee and bread which we greatly appreciated. Lastly, the beds are very comfortable throughout the home and this was greatly appreciated by us all. We would not hesitate to return!

Wonderful visit
I highly recommend this property. The house is wonderful, the hosts are kind and generous, and the location at the edge of Yellowstone National Park is pretty tough to beat. Shirl helped us plan our time in Yellowstone and gave us great recommendations for our kids to ride horses nearby. We would love to go back at some point.

This the perfect place to stay to enjoy YNP but avoid the cattle herd at the same time. Our hosts were some of the best we have had. Their responses to us were quick , considerate and more than expected. Nice artistic touches. Well supplied. Spotting scope was great... saw lots of wildlife off the deck..

The property, Shirl's hospitality and location exceeded our expectations. There were 12 of us (6 adults and 6 kids) and there was plenty of space for everyone. The house was beautifully decorated, with special touches that made it beyond perfect, liked the etched windows and Shirl and John's artwork. The paintings and the bronze wildlife sculptures make this home special. We cooked and ate in every evening and found everything we needed to make meals for 12 people. The Gardiner Market was a short walk away. The location by the North entrance of the park worked really well. We took easy short day trips to the Mammoth and Yellowstone Hot Springs, hiked the beaver loop trail (6 miles), visited Old Faithful, and stopped by Gibbons falls on the way. On our first full-day in the park we went on a Wolf Tracker tour and saw so many animals; Grizzlies, Wolves, several Moose, Mountain Goats, a coyote, a fox, and of course bison, elk, mule deer and prong horns. You can see many animals right across the river from this house and one evening we were sitting in the back of the house and several mule deer walked right by us, on our side of the river. Would highly recommend the house and near the end of April was a wonderful time to visit.

We had an amazing time! We had grandpa, grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins (11 total). The home is beautifully redone and furnished with lovely artwork. We had a great time in the game room playing ping pong and pool. The elk across the river were an enjoyment any time of the day. We didn't need to interact with the owner much and everything ran smoothly! Our only "downside" was the steepness of stairs to the lower level (gpa and gma did "OK" but a bit scary). Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the house!

The owner was generous with her time prior to our arrival, answering our questions about the area and quick to respond once we arrived.
