From the moment of arrival to the goodbye at the corner, it was a fun, quiet place to spend the evenings and rainy days. We enjoyed a drink on the upstairs terrace, great breakfasts, and stimulating conversation with our hosts. There were great recommendations for places to dine and sights to see.

Very gracious hosts! Definitely consider enjoying their breakfast offer, we did it 3 mornings and it was a treat. We were made to feel welcome. The location is fantastic, one block from Place Royale.

The location was perfect for exploring Quebec City! Francois and Martin could not have been more welcoming and gracious hosts. Our breakfasts each day were delicious treats and they made us feel like we were at home rather than traveling.

Had a wonderful stay in Old Quebec City … this property is situated within a 5-10 minute walk of all the sites the city has to offer. Francois and Martin were gracious hosts and offered great suggestions as to what to see and where to go … highly recommended !!!

My wife and I travelled to QC with our adult son and his girlfriend for a long weekend. Our hosts, Francois and Martin, were exceptional. They provided lots of great advice for things to do around the Old City, as well as restaurant recommendations that were perfect and very close to the unit. As others have said, the breakfast was delicious and delightful, as was their cute schnauzer. The unit is very quiet. We cannot say enough good things about our trip. There is one point that I would make clear if you are considering this property - you are not completely separated from the owners' unit. They use the same door as the guests and there is an inside staircase from the bedrooms that are rented up to their unit. But to be clear, our hosts left us completely alone and we never had any sense of a lack of privacy. It was actually very nice to socialize with them for breakfast. We would love to go again with another couple in the near future.

We really enjoyed our stay with François and Martin. The property was very clean and the breakfast is amazing. I highly recommend the breakfast. The location was perfect for visiting Quebec. I had stayed on the upper part of the city previously and enjoyed staying on the lower part this visit. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable.

Great location in the vieux ville. Everything walkable. Parking space located right outside bedroom window. Super convenient. We parked there on arrival and didn't drive again until leaving 3 days later. Francois and Martin very friendly and knowledgeable about neighborhood history, places to go, and restaurants etc. They also make great breakfasts. All this and pet friendly, we brought our dog, who played with their dog!

This wonderful old house is on a nearly private, quiet lane at the foot of the cliff that separates the Old Port from the rest of Old Quebec City. The neighborhood has excellent restaurants, shops, galleries and Museums; all just a short stroll away. The guest accommodations are on the first floor and the owners live on the second and third floors. The two bedrooms are of a good size and the beds are great. The larger of the two bedrooms has a small sitting area. The bathroom is large with world class water pressure! The whole place is spotless, and the art on the walls is gallery quality. The owners, Francois and Martin are extraordinary. They are charming, informative, caring and great breakfast chefs. Their restaurant recommendations, itinerary suggestions, and insight into the culture of Quebec City made our stay very special. Their dog, Armand, is very friendly and made our dog comfortable with his new environment. We would happily visit again (but in warmer weather next time!)

Francois and Martin were the perfect hosts in this wonderfully styled Quebec City home. The home is situated in the thick of things. Surrounded by galleries and restaurants we were thrilled to have Old Quebec City right outside our door.
The accommodations were perfect for 2 couples, with plenty of room for chatting in the lounge area of one of the bedrooms. It was surprisingly quiet at night for sleeping. The artwork gracing their walls is stunning and I loved waking up to the beautiful parrot gracing our bedroom wall. The shower has the best pressure I have ever had in a shower and the king size beds were comfy for sure.
The breakfasts each morning were a highlight in a weekend full of culinary delights. Not to miss, Matteo, an Italian restaurant down the street, served pizza that rivalled that which we had in Venice. SO GOOD!!
Francois was incredibly helpful in sharing places we should see while visiting -- directing us to places such as Le cousins bakery and other city gems. He immediately made us feel at home when we arrived.
The hosts were friendly and joyful and the home was filled with positive energy. THANK YOU for a great stay Francois and Martin! We hope to return someday.

We had an exceptional weekend in Old Quebec. The property was exactly as described and the location was perfect for leaving our car and walking everywhere. The hosts were even more gracious than we expected. Provided perfect suggestions for things to do as well as restaurant and bar recommendations. The breakfasts each morning were fabulous!

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. From the beginning to the end, our hosts were wonderful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfasts were exceptional and the location was perfect. They even have a sweet little pooch who helped us with our "separation anxiety" from our own fur babies. Would glady stay again.

WOW - Our host greeted us from the street corner leading to his tastefully renovated and furnished property. Our dedicated parking space immediately opposite was truly appreciated, especially in beautiful Old Quebec where streets are narrow and parking not always easy. From the outset, both our hosts began generously sharing their lovely historic property with us and our 2 pups (who made fast friends with their schnauzer, Armand). Not only did we tour our spaces, but were invited to view the rest of their unique living spaces. As well, they willingly shared gems of information about the City and its environs. We were treated to scrumptious breakfasts, some on a remarkably “gardened” rooftop terrace, others in their delightful, ample dining space. With interesting collections of art and decorative pieces accumulated over years of world travels, we felt honoured to learn of some special moments they’d experienced over years of following ‘paths less travelled’. Our own Quebec City experiences took us to L’Echaude Restaurant (around the corner, excellent meals and service)), Chateau Frontenac’s Bistro Le Sam (great view of St. Lawrence River and Levis, accompanied by exquisite French cuisine, just as marvellous as our hosts’ breakfasts!), and visits to both Ste. Anne de Beaupre Basilica (recently visited by the Pope, and every bit as dramatic and majestic as any such European Basilica/Cathedral, especially since it boasts amazing stained glass windows AND, in its lower chapel, a precise copy of Michelangelo’s sculpture of the Pieta - the original of which is in St. Peter’s, The Vatican), and Ile d’Orleans, with its forever views from a-high of the River, the opposite shore, its rich farmlands, wineries, microbreweries, churches, quaint villages and well-kept properties (many renovated in keeping with its heritage and culture). Our sincere gratitude to our special hosts for their entertaining stories, their quick humour, and their sincere friendliness. We will miss you both and wish you only the best!

This property was in the perfect location to explore Quebec City. The accommodations were just what my daughter and I were looking for, with two separate bedrooms with king size beds,a refrigerator and microwave, and wonderful breakfasts enjoyed on the third floor terrace surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. Our hosts made us so comfortable and we felt like family. Thank you for all your dining suggestions!

The best location and the nicest hosts
I can't imagine that there is a better place to stay in Old Quebec City. The property is located in the oldest part of the city near the water, but is amazingly quiet considering all the foot traffic in the neighborhood. We had the whole first floor to ourselves, but our wonderful hosts, Francois and Martin made us breakfast every morning which we ate on their beautiful roof terrace. (for a very reasonable extra fee).Francois also gave us lots of information on where to go for walks, what we should absolutely see and some of the attractions outside of the city. They also knew where to charge up our electric car! They have their own pup and are obviously dog lovers and our two small dogs couldn't have had a nicer place to spend their vacation. The bedrooms and the bathroom were very spacious and spotless, there was a little area with mini-fridge and microwave where we could prepare snacks and coffee or tea- which they cleaned up every time we went out for the day (they tidied up the bathroom as well). Their are wonderful restaurants around the corner from their place and a parking place ( a city luxury) was included in the daily cost of the room. When we go back to Quebec City- which is amaziing- we will definitely stay with Francois and Martin!

We had a wonderful time staying with Francois, Martin, and their lovely dog Armand. We truly had a personalized bed and breakfast experience. (breakfasts were outstanding!) It was so very helpful to hear Francois’ tips and suggestions for exploring the city and area. We had our own floor, plus access to the beautiful roof deck. The location is fantastic since it is right in the heart of the old city! We are already missing our time in Quebec City, and would stay here again if we return.

Merveilleux (Review is in English)
This was our second Christmas staying with Francois and Martin. They are warm, welcoming hosts, and their location in the old city is just perfect for anything you might want to do.
We parked our car (yes, they have a place to park) and walked everywhere in the upper and lower city. Christmas in Old Quebec is magical with lights, decorations and ornaments, and the good feelings of the season are everywhere among shopkeepers and tourists alike. Everyone passes through the Place Royale coming and going, and it is breathtakingly beautiful.
Our hosts recommended several restaurants that we enjoyed enough to return to. We ate very well while there, and visited the new market to stock up on things to return with. And our breakfasts were a highlight of the B & B.
Definitely try a horse drawn carriage tour bundled warmly in robes. And always dress warmly, too, because winter is cold. But for an exotic foreign country close to the US, Quebec is perfect. You feel when you return that you have been somewhere very special.
We Americans tend to over rate. But in this case, we mean by FIVE STARS something extraordinary.

Francois and Mark were delightful! We couldn’t have asked for better hosts for our stay in Old Quebec. Make sure you take advantage of the wonderful breakfast they offer! The location of their lovely B&B is perfect. Francois was very helpful with recommending but not pushing restaurants and local points of interest. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful stay with a very gracious host, Francois. His place in Lowertown Is extremely well located. Francois prepared and served wonderful breakfasts on his attractive rooftop terrace and was always helpful with dining and various other recommendations which added to our enjoyment. We brought a dog with us and it was entertained by Francois’s small dog whenever we were out for dinner without our dog. That worked out very well. We would definitely stay there again if we were to come back to Quebec City.

Quebec City in Two Days
Property had a great location. The hosts were very helpful, picked us up at the train station and dropped us off on the return. Breakfast was very good. Only negative was lack of an inside seating area besides the bedroom to relax, we had expected this. It did have a nice outside area on the roof that we used.

Fantastic Hosts and a Great Location
François and Martin are wonderful hosts! When we first arrived, François was so helpful and gave us great suggestions about how to spend our time in Quebec City. This B&B is in a great neighborhood that is packed with fantastic restaurants, shops and art galleries. It's less than a five-minute walk to the Museum of Civilization and the riverfront. Quebec's Old City is just up the hill as well, and even the Museum of Fine Arts is within walking distance.
We were served a fantastic breakfast with fresh fruit each morning. Our rooms and the bathroom were perfectly clean and well-stocked with fresh linens and towels. We traveled with our dog, and she was welcomed by our hosts as well and able to stay in our room while we explored the city. We cannot recommend this B&B enough for a wonderful stay in Quebec City!

We had a great time and this B& B was part of the reason. It is in a perfect location for exploring the port area. The property is very comfortable and the owner couldn't have been nicer. It is perfect for two couples traveling together!

Absolutely extraordinary. The experience defines professional hospitality.
If location, location, location is key to a good stay, then this first class Gîte is the place to be.
Everything in old Québec is within walking distance. The walks suggested by our hosts were one of the best things about our stay.
Our rooms are, literally, above one of the best restaurants in the city (L'Échaudé) although so well insulated that we never would have known it. There are more than a dozen really really good restaurants within an easy walk( for example, Bistro St-Malo.) We were about 3 minutes walk away from the Museum of Civilization. There are art galleries, and boutiques tucked away on every street. Some of the buildings are probably from the 1700's. All carefully maintained and cherished.
We were there over Christmas and the old city was in definite celebration mood. Beautiful lights and decorations and special exhibits everywhere. Everyone was friendly and put up patiently with our efforts to speak in their language.
The three of us fit perfectly into the two rooms. The rooms are very comfortable and our hosts did everything to keep us comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing. Prepared in the host's kitchen with great imagination and differently every day and absolutely delicious.
It was a wonderful experience. Québec is the most wonderful city in North America

Excellent location and host.
The property is exactly as represented. The location, in the heart of the old town, is ideal.
Francois (the property owner), who resides on the second floor, is fluent in English and very willing to impart his knowledge of the city. Each of the two bedrooms has a comfortable king-sized bed. Plenty of hot water. Reasonably quiet. Enough room to spread out. Would stay there again if visiting Quebec.
