This our 2nd time gathering our large family at Watagua River Cabins for Thanksgiving. It is a cherished experience made even better by the beautiful setting, plentiful amenities, and set-up of the 5 cabins— especially for the kids and fishermen in our group. We highly recommend one or all the cabins and we hope to do it again in the future!

We came for another visit along with our family/ friends. It doesn’t get much better. Be back in the spring.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. We were in town for my mom's 80th birthday and needed a place for our family to stay. My sister and her family stayed in the unit right next door. It was perfect for everyone. Just wish we could have stayed longer and been able to enjoy the firepit.

We were in town for Annual Vurbmoto Muddy Creek Motorcross race. The rental was cheaper than booking a hotel. We were there just to sleep at night.

Gorgeous beyond our expectations, the shoals, the campfire, the location. Gary and Patty are awesome!

We needed a break from the Florida environment, and an area that included access to trout fishing.
The stay with Watauga River Cabins offered everything we were looking for.
The owners present a relaxing, comfortable outdoor atmosphere with their accomadations.
A plus for staying at the Watauga River Cabins is having access to the mountains and the Watangua river, and South Holston river.
A five star review is well earned due to the owners dedication towards their property.
Where else can you spend a relaxing evening by the campfire with the owners...true southern hospitality at its best.

The location was ideal on the Watauga river and the grounds and scenery made the trip. We will always refer this place for friends to stay if in the Johnson City area. Lots of things to do in this area. Wonderful owners to work with!!

Loved the property and location! Easy drive into town, but secluded enough to feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. Great setup for entertaining, grilling and sitting by a campfire. Easy access to the river with good trout fishing. Would definitely go back!

This was a perfect spot to stay while we had a brief vacation mid move. Not stuffy and cramped like a hotel room. Plenty of space for the whole family and it was absolutely beautiful.

We found this spot a year ago and it is a perfect spot for some R&R with multiple families (able to rent cabins on same property) and close enough for city & outdoor adventures! Highly recommend.

Our daughter and 2 of her friends had their last travel ball tournament in Johnson City. 3 families stayed in the 3 cabins but all 3 girls stayed with us in the loft. It was perfect for them. Our bed was really comfy. The grill and patio area was awesome as was the fire pit as we listened to the river and nature. It was a wonderful week on the Watauga.

This place was nothing short of AMAZING! Within minutes to downtown Johnson City and many recreations, yet secluded enough for privacy and serenity. This place had everything but your clothes and food. The other renters were cordial and pleasant to talk to. The shed had lots of activities for the kids to try. We enjoyed talking to the neighbor and getting to pet his dogs, they were very friendly. We even enjoyed the morning calls from the other neighbors rooster. The sound of the rushing river while laying in the hammock was so relaxing.

There were some issues. Was given two door combos but one worked. Was too close to others. Another renter would show up outside our sliding door to use our rocking chairs. Was not pleased. Did not provide Kleenex. Lighting was too dim. No lighting over dining table. Standing light needed a 3-way bulb. Floors did not seem clean. Toilet paper was commercial. Not my type.

Love this cabin and the location. The communal space out back looks over the river. It is a great place to just rest and relax while enjoying the river.
The cabin was perfect for the four of us. Everything was very clean and cabin was well stocked with supplies to cook a meal. Backyard area has a gas grill, fire pit, table and chairs making spending time with family and friends very easy.
Saw the property managers working around the property several times, they were always very friendly and willing to chat.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The river is right there and so beautiful with the trees. They have lovely places along the river bank where one can sit and enjoy. They are very accommodating allowing our dogs and providing coffee. Our neighbors in the apartments in which we shared the outdoor common space were very nice too.

Very good with some small issues. There is a constant water leak on the master bath shower faucet. The gasket needs to be replaced. We had an invasion of small ants in the kitchen the first night. Two plastic boxes of cinnamon buns had to be discarded. We kept the rest of the food stored in the refrigerator. The third step on the spiral staircase needs to be checked; it is loose. The instructions gave two numbers for the door code. Only one is correct. I suggest you add a Keurig coffee maker.
Overall, this is a really nice place and great location on the river!

Property work perfect for our race weekend and the river is right out the back door. It is a beautiful setting and close enough to the track yet far enough away from all the traffic. It work perfect for us and the river gave us something to do when we were not at the track. Well kept property, clean and would be perfect for a multi pal family gathering.

A lovely rustic cabin on the river. Loved the gas fireplace in the living room. The outdoor area was fantastic. Lots of things to do to keep little ones entertained. Loads of space for parking when my local family came to visit. The property managers were so helpful & sweet! This is the second time staying here. Definitely will be booking next stay here!

The property was off the beaten path but easily accessible to Jonesboro. Our accommodations were clean and cozy for 1 or 2 couples though climbing the round staircase could be a problem for some. The communal space was inviting around a bonfire and the Wautauga River below was calming. We would love to return.
