Breakfast was good. Full English vegetarian breakfast available. Nice pub area to relax.

Not many vegetarian options for dinner.

I am an expat that lives in California US, this was a family trip to the Royal Arms for a birthday party. It was the quintissential English Pub experience for us, great atmosohere, food and beverages.

Stunning rural location and lovely buildings with ample parking. The main restaurant and breakfast room are gorgeous and the food is delicious. Staff were lovely and helpful as well and the atmosphere was great.

The furniture in our room looked quite dated, the carpets really needed replacing and the bathroom could have done with an update, particularly to the old electric shower.

A very comfortable bed, a lovely view and everything was nice and clean.

I was asked by email to check in on line which felt impersonal, but I guess that is just me being old fashioned. The hotel closed at 5pm so there was no welcome. It was great that staff left the room on the latch so that we were able to get in after 5pm. Decor was tired and one of the radiators broken so it was not possible to turn the valve off making the room too hot.
