Hotel amenities gave impression of parking included. Turned out, I had to pay for parking at parking garage next to hotel :(

We liked our room, reception area and bar/ restaurant. Bed very comfortable.

The carpet in room 232 had lots of stains.

Bar staff so inexperienced at pulling pints and 12 euro carpark fees disgraceful after the cost of hotel fees

Not much to like.

We were put in a room directly across from the door of a homeless shelter. We were out for my wifes birthday and came back at 10pm. The noise outside was unbearable people shouting and this went on and on. I rang the reception just after 11pm and was told that the noise would soon die down. It actually got worse and eventually out of exhaustion we fell asleep. In the morning we went to reception to complain. The receptionist who booked us in the previous day immediately said she would compensate us so this must be a nightly thing. She had no interest in talking to us and we refused compensation and we went to get our luggage and leave. We are both in our 60s and are disgusted that the Clayton would knowingly put guests in that room and charge full price (€263) for the night. Shame on you the Clayton in Cork City.

We had breakfast - which was mainly great but only a few very tired bits of dry bacon - otherwise lovely.

It was a warm night and the air con didn't work properly. Last time stayed in this hotel there was a digital thermostat and the room cooled fine, this time though it was an old analogue style push button. It was turned all the way down and it still felt like it was just blowing out warm air.

The location is perfect.

We were met in the lobby by a staffmember who was clearly not in the best of moods. She didn't look at us, threw the adminstrative forms over the counter "here your telephonenumber and signature" while our telfephonenumber was already there. She didn't explain anything about the hotel. Not an inviting start.

facilities and cleanliness

lack of utilities in room, age of room, breakfast was poor and staff most mornings was unfriendly serving you. it was almost like you were a bother asking them for coffee.

Large triple room, plenty of space for 3 adults. Helpful and friendly staff.

Slow service at the coffee bar due to long queues in the morning, as an alternative to breakfast in the restaurant, and only one member of staff on duty at a peak time.

The location is excellent. Great for shopping and eating out. The hotel staff were very nice and the hotel restaurant served delicious food.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Room was very hot .. ventilation not working ., Food was. stale at breakfast some off it uni edible Guinness was very poor … lots not right at this hotel
