We organised our own breakfast. The location is about 250m high and about 6 km from the centre of Funchal. We often walked down and taxied back. But it is on a couple of bus routes.

A bit chilly in the first week of Feb, but that's not their fault.

Maybe the cleaners uniforms are a bit out of date for the times. The room cleaning service though was very good.

Everything was just perfect: a room with a stunning sea view, an area with a lot of trees and green grass, delicious breakfasts in nature, friendly staff

The only thing is that it is better to rent a car there or be ready to use a taxi all the time

The hosts Felamina and Max were both welcoming and helpful. They were supported by Anna Maria who has a wealth of knowledge about the island and on hand for any problems. Not that we had any. The pool area is a fantastic place to relax and watch the sun go down after a day walking the lavardas. The rooms were cleaned daily and kept spotless by the on site team. The gardens are spectacular and the on site cats may come and make friends. The breakfast was amazing especially the home made jam. Overall an idyllic location 20mins away (by bus) rom Funchal city.

Nothing not to like with the exceptional apartment and gardens. If your after a little piece and tranquility this is the place for you. However due to being a bit more remote you will benefit from hiring a car or making use of the islands excellent bus service. But be prepared to walk a short way back to the green parrot.

The sweetest hosts/ staff you can imagine. Very helpful in giving tips about the island. Incredible ocean view with a great breakfast. The room was very clean and the garden beautiful. We had a lovely stay!

The breakfast was lovely. The location is quite remote and very peaceful with views down to the ocean. The pool is well looked after and the garden is pleasant to sit in.

The only disadvantage is the poor bus service, especially on Sundays. It is a 10 minute taxi ride. I would advise anyone wanting to see a lot of the island to hire a car.
