Really nice grounds, patio and hammocks. The free use bikes were very handy for grocery runs and runs to other parts of the beach as well as restaurants in the evening. The lady that manages the place is so very nice The breakfast was the best I had since I came to Nicaragua and she made it 30 mins earlier than scheduled for me as I had to catch an early bus

the pool needed a clean

The stuff especially Kati was super nice and welcoming. Helped us with all of our questions and issues we needed to solve. The room was spacious, nice and clean bathroom. Lovely and quiet location. Great home-made local breakfast

I had a bad experience with the taxi from the airport. This was booked through Tapihouse. Broadly speaking the Taxi was not actually at the airport but at an open air roadside repair shop. Whilst this was in Managua, it was remote from the airport and in a commercial/industrial looking area. I was taken there by the driver in a vehicle and with a second driver. Neither vehicle nor driver looked approved for airport work. I was tired after two days of travel and felt isolated and unsafe at this location. I didn't have a local sim card at that time; however, I did manage to message with the owner at Tapihouse through the Booking.com app. He responded promptly and started telephoning his driver. At one stage I was able to speak with the owner using the driver's mobile. Once the work was complete we twice tried to set off without the garage conducting any form of road test on the taxi. The vehicle was obviously still faulty and eventually I was returned to the airport in the faulty taxi and my fare was passed to another driver. Unfortunately this driver did not know the way to Las Penitas or Tapihouse. Whilst the owner of Tapihouse was helpful and apologised for my experience, this was an unacceptable and distressing event. Whilst local staff at Tapihouse were very helpful, the proprietor, who was the only person who was able to speak English was largely absent, departing the premises each morning and returning after dark. As a more general point, whilst I had learned some Spanish and practiced over a period of weeks before travel to Nicaragua, on reflection, I was not fluent enough by some margin. I would suggest fluent Spanish speakers only for Nicaragua.

15 min walk to the center

the location is very good, right next to the beach! the room is comfortable with a good working AC. Kathy is the nicest person and makes the best breakfast!!! She was amazingly helpfull and made our stay so good. We also did our laundry here and that was the best so far in the whole of Nicaragua!

The shower was hardly working and the bed mattrass is kinda hard.

it was a really good place to relax near to the beach

This is the only property in Nicaragua that we stayed at that had A/C - this is why we booked the property so we could escape the heat for two days. Overall the property was great, spacious, clean, it had a nice breakfast and the hammocks were a nice touch. We tried to extend our stay, but it was fully booked.

The host originally tried to put us in a room that did not look that the room we booked. It was small and smelt of damp and we refused it. They then offered the room that we booked - so be cognisant of this and make sure you get the room that is advertised on Booking.com! The properties location was not great, but it’s only a 15-20 minute walk on the beach to get to the main attractions. In addition, we thought the property was a bit pricey, but I guess every property is pricey in Nicaragua for the quality you get (in comparison to other properties in alternative Latin American countries).

Superb place to stay, the facilities are clean, and the common kitchen is very well equipped. Comfortable chairs and hammocks outside the rooms are great places to relax and read a book or work. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. I will definitely come back.

I liked everything.

Loooooved the bed here, comfiest bed ive slept on in a very long time. Great chill space and nice kitchen. Everything was very clean and nice.

The neighbors have chickens and roosters that think the sun is rising even at 3am. It was rough. Showers aren't hot but they were comfy. but thats a region thing, not just this place.

Everything about our stay at tapihouse was amazing. The room is big, bed is king size and very comfortable, AC works great and it's actually included in the price, the shower works good and the drain actually drains! You can pay with credit card with no added fees. The breakfast is delicious and made by the loveliest person ever, Kathy. She really made our stay special and helped us with everything. 10/10

Nothing at all

A very chill place with just 3-4 rooms. The room was huge and the ac worked great (much needed!). Everything was super clean. We loved the communal kitchen: well equipped, big and we had it all to ourselves. The area is very quiet at night. There are hammocks and chairs to chill but not the most "atmospheric". Home-cooked breakfast was the same every day but we enjoyed it.

It's at the far end of town, you'll need to walk 10-20min to the restaurants and board rentals. The point break is 10min away. But a nice touch is a fridge stocked full of cold beer so you can buy one here if you don't feel like walking anywhere.

great location, very comfy bed! beers for sale at very decent prices and a warm breakfast. relaxing outside seating area, well equipped kitchen, beach within walking distance, what can i say more… highly recommended!

Very calm relaxing environment a 5 minute walk away from the beach. We loved the ability to use the big kitchen and have our own relaxing space or visit with the few other guests. The air con is. huge plus since it’s a quite warm. The outdoor shower was awesome and all the public spaces are kept very clean! The property itself was quite simple but big and open with a couple mango trees.

it was clean and quiet. i've had "my own beach" because it is a bit away of all the hostels in the area. that was nice :) for shops (water) you can walk 10 minutes in each direction. there's one restaurant very close but for the others you had to walk.

the dogs in the area can be difficult as soon as the sun sets. this is of course not the fault of the accomodation but when there are more people around, the dogs are more submissive.

We had such a nice time at Tapihouse. The bed in the first room is amazing! haha we enjoyed sleeping on a proper bed after some time so we ended up spending a lot of time at Tapihouse playing with Maca and Oporto(the guardians of the house). Fully equipped kitchen, a 4 min walk to the beach, ac, good wifi. Oh and they had bikes we could borrow( one definitely needs the chain fixed though )

All gooood at Tapihouse. Although we did have to change rooms one night and the bathroom of this other room had a strong sewage or moist smell, if you close the door it doesnt bother you but you can definitely smell it once inside the bathroom.

There is an ant hole in the room. There are many ants in the bed at night. There are many insects, mosquitoes and flies in the room. A light breakfast will leave you hungry.
