Just as a disclaimer we are an EU couple. We booked here as it had a 9 rating but that is totally overevaluated. The place itself is more of a 6 than a 9. Best thing about this place: the hosts! They are very kind, very nice, helpful, all round cheerful people. Mr Hervey was great! The location is also good. Close to the center, within walking distance of the mall, super u, beach etc.

The room was dirty. We stayed 3 nights and it never got cleaned. If we were supposed to clean it ourselves then the mop and bucket left in the bathroom would not have been enough. Only received 2 big towels, no small ones. These never got changed during our 3 night stay The .place itself is not in the best of conditions. You know how it is, it looks better in pictures then reality.

Hervey Residence was a perfect place to spend our three days in Grand Bay. The residence is some 8 minutes walking from the beach. Our room was clean, cozy and very well equipped. We felt extremely welcome as Mr Hervey and his wife made us feel like home. I can barely think of a better host I have come across during my traveling adventure. We strongly recommend this place!

The only thing that comes to mind is the wifi. We did not get any reception in our room and had to resort to the balcony (which, after all, was a nice place to be anyway, haha).

The owner was really nice, he helped us book some tours. Apartment is pretty big and has a free parking.

Some refurbish would be good.
