Despite the reservation being secured by credit card on Booking.com and us attempting to pay by credit card upon checkout, we were held hostage by the hotel staff who refused to open the gate for us and allow us to go to the airport. We are planning to file an attempted kidnapping charge with the local police. Beware of the hotel staff who do not know how Booking.com works and will hold you against your will, demanding payment by cash, because the person who knows how to use the credit card reader is not there. Most terrible Booking.com experience ever and we are planning to contact Booking.com staff about this property to have them delisted on safety/security grounds. A hotel that holds their guests hostage has no place on this site.
