The room layout, cold and not welcoming Just didn’t feel the love

It had dust everywhere, They said they were pet friendly but were going to charge a further 100. dollars on top of the amount i had already paid for my pet to stay. The fuses kept blowing in the room.

Old and out dated. Double bed was terrible and the shower with just a curtain is bad.

Cold as anything!! Just two oil heaters we had no extra blanket no hairdryer. Feels like we stayed here in the expensive backpackers!

The location was great.

The room needs upgrading asap was a tad disappointed on the room was cold, no nets on windows so couldn't open the curtains with out everyone looking in. I was not aware of the $100 bond on arrival as it did not state when I made the booking online.

The man was friendly on the phone when he called to tell me nobody will be a t reception when we arrive so the key will be on the bench. No wonder he didn't want to be there when we arrived. It was not a nice place to stay. As it was a long weekend and no other accommodation available (trust me I checked) I had to go to the supermarket and purchase antibacterial wipes and soap and clean the place.

No soap in the bathroom, hair in the shower and on the vanity. The toilet seat didn't fit the toilet as the pan was oval and the seat was round. So your legs touched the pan when you sat down. We went to the swimming pools so I didn't have to use the shower as it looked dirty. The window was chest height in the shower. If you'd shower at night with the light on the neighbors would be able to watch you. The bed was so uncomfortable that I had a terrible sleep and a sore hip in the morning. There was a dirty used plaster behind the dented heater. The windows on the top floor had no safety latches and the bed in the kids room was next to the window so very dangerous. The gaps in the sides of the upstairs decking rails were wide enough that i was worried that my 2 year old could fit through them. There was a pile of old carpet and rubbish outside. We paid about $270 per night, so I didn't expect such below entry level accommodation. I will not be returning here.

The property is becoming very dated and need of an update, unfortunately it is of the era gone by and very basic. Taupo is extremely cold at this time of year and heating was a small oil electric heater, TV was a small set located to low to the floor
