Great place to visitn and stay at. Love the Bure's scattered around the island. Very comfy and its liike you have your own slice of paradise. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is more on the rustic side.
I would really have liked to see a safetybox in the bure for our valuables.

Nothing
Resort staff stole our boat and resort manager shivnesh repeatedly lied and blamed us for it
Worst managed hotel I have ever stayed in, manager is a lying weasel who covers for the theives that work for him

The island and the beach are absolutely stunning, with perfect water temperature. Our morning and evening walks around the island, along with falling asleep to the gentle sound of the ocean, were incredibly relaxing. While the food didn't offer a wide variety, it was sufficient for those without a lot of dietary requirements. There are free activities like snorkeling with included equipment, which was a fantastic experience. Nothing luxurious but overall great deal for the price and all meals included.
Some staff weren't so friendly, while others were polite enough. The room was good for the price, but there was a lack of outdoor furniture if you enjoy seating outside. The beach is stunning but it needs better maintenance as we found litter around the island including potentially hazardous glass shards. A few items in the menu were greasy for my taste.

The island is lovely if very small (10 mins to walk round it).
The resort is in a poor state of disrepair! It looks very tatty and worn. Staff do their best but the place is rather run down with mice running around the dining area and excursions, jet skies, canoes etc not available. All rather sad.

The locations was fabulous just a wee short 45 min spendy boat ride and you were at the island. We were greeted but the staff welcoming us with a song. Activities were offered throughout the day I loved learning about the turtle breeding programme. Going out to the reef to look at the coral and feed the fish then snorkel was very cool. This type of accommodation is what we love. The food was ample and varied. If you are looking for a holiday location that you can relax and do very little bit also want to do some low key activities then this is the place for you. When we were there I’d say it was less than 1/4 capacity which suited us. I could imagine it would be an excellent party island. We would definitely come back again.
Im some places the sand was so deep I rolled my ankle a few times. The shop could sube down with a little more supplies. I saw a staff member wearing a sulu with beachcomber on it i would have liked to get one for my hubby but didn’t see it in the shop.

The resort is okay, good and decent food and lovely staff.
The island is tiny. Not much to do. The only problem is that they have a mice infestation and we had them in our room. We complained and they moved us to a better room. We ended up having a nice stay but I don’t recommend it for more than 2 nights. They should give beach chairs and umbrellas to the guests, there is no shade to cover from the sun

The staff were super lovely and accommodating! Loved not having to think about what to cook and eat as the buffets were plenty! Breakfast omelettes were a daily fav!
I stayed in the oceanfront room, a quick paint job and a new shower head/system and you've got a perfect room!

Location, the island is beautiful and the surrounding reefs are quite healthy.
Very unorganized, they tried to charge me extra several times despite having fixed my tab already, went diving and they tried to charge me extra, they tried to charge me for a transfer that I had already paid, etc. Very annoying. My toilet was blocked and remained blocked during my whole stay, told staff about it but they did not fix it. I had a pleasant enough stay because of the guests I met, the friendly staff and the beautiful nature though.

The island is amazing, blue water and white sand just like in the pictures
Infrastructure is old, things are broken, no water in the showers and mostly cold when there is any.

Honestly, this is exactly what we were hoping for. When you are looking for an escape from reality, or quality family time. Was amazing. The staff were so friendly.
There were a few power cuts, but added that authentic vibe.
The meals are set times, but all the activities are based around when food is prepared, so you don't miss out.
Very good selection of food aswel, all you can eat. Yum.
Will definitely miss this place. Untill next time (:
Sometimes the water wouldn't work.. but honestly not that big of a deal.

Unique position. Smallere than other resort islands which gives it a special atmosfare. Staff was the best. Very nice and atrentive. And snorkelling was simply amazing.
Music was at times a bit loud in the bar But that is a matter of taste... some people love that... but most of the time it was quiet and nice

the staff were so friendly and accommodating. there were free activities like snorkelling that was a lot of fun
i was told being a vegetarian wouldn’t be a problem so when I went for food and told them I am a vegetarian they said the only option for me was roast potatoes, this was for lunch and dinner was roast potatoes and some plain pasta. this was no very nice
3.0
Dinner was very average with mashed potato and some beef as well as a fish option. Tiny piece of cake for dessert. Machinery (diggers)were working not stop during eating and it was difficult to talk. Breakfast was OK but the urn blew up and caught fire. Only provide instant coffee.
The place was a nightmare. Rooms very old. Limited things to do unless you paid to go out to a reef. Water kept turning off and difficult to flush toilet. Bathroom rusty. Our kids were in the Dorm - No fans or aircon. My brother in law got electric shock. from fridge. Cost an extra $79 FJ each to get onto the Island as ferry discontinued on 1 April 2023. 15 pax boat . Had 17 pax. No lifejackets in rough seas and all our luggage. Management very unhelpful and admin manager rude when we wanted to express our concerns. Diggers and Trucks working on beach continually.

Beautiful island 🏝️ lovely area to snorkel. Crystal clear waters

the only positive thing about the place was the snorkelling off the main beach.
Everything else.
The rooms were filthy, bathrooms were dirty with no toilet paper or soap.
There were rats crawling around the place - one of our mates got leptospirosis from eating snacks with contaminated rat faeces in them.
The food was inedible , as a vegetarian all I could eat was boiled rice for lunch and dinner. i can’t believe they have the nerve to charge 120 FJD for that inedible garbage.
The dorms were dirty, there was one barely functional fan in our dorm room for 20 people.
All of our group got sick as a result of this place.
I’ve stayed in over a hundred hostels in my time and this has to be the WORST place I’ve ever stayed.
do yourself a favour and stay away !

good for a party and nye celebrations
Not many activities available for solo or couple travellers as most activities require at least 4 people.

Nice beach and beautiful views in the Mamanucas.
The resort needs some serious upgrading. Booked a private Oceanview room and it was right beside the loud generator and smelly water treatment area. Room itself was okay but bathroom below what you would expect. The food is pretty horrible...worst we had in Fiji (stayed at five different accomodations total).

Rooms were big and Aircon worked well. Staff were amazing and lots of things organsied in the evening
If it's wet there isn't much to do. Food is quite basic and there is no free drinking water

The island itself is very nice, very spacious beach, we enjoyed swings.
We chose staying on Beachcomber island for 1 night for it's famous party vibe that we saw on many portals (Google, Youtube etc). Once we’ve arrived turned out that we were in the middle of so called “spring break” and group of 180 Australians departed in the morning and Beachcomber is getting ready to receive another huge group from New Zealand the next day. So at that one night of our stay there were only 6 guests, including us and no party, not entertainment was offered. Given that that was the only reason we chose Beachcomber, we felt disappointment. I think it would have been nice to inform us upfront about such situation, so we wouldn’t have booked that night. Especially that we called them from our previous stay if possible to change the booking. Also food was below average.

It was a beautiful location and good value for money.
My whole family and multiple other guests on the island got severe food poisoning from the food that lasted two weeks.

location
it’s worn out and is not what we expected given the way it’s advertised on your site, it is the worst place we have ever stayed at.

Amazing location, the island is very small, with only the resort on it. The beach was fantastic and the additional free snorkling trips were a bonus. Loved the communal outdoor areas. It was still quite quiet.
As a vegetarian, the meals were somewhat the same every day. However, they were well prepared. Meals are offered in a buffet style and you can choose from four hotplates. Breakfast was great! The turtle pond is a little bit sad. additional charges for kajaks and snorkle gear

School camp experience for a school camp price on an island.
A good basic setting when low visitor numbers for a snorkeling , reading, lazy get away. We travelled with teens, so enjoyed the time connecting with them and lazing about. Forget about devices- limited wifi ( which suited us). Basic repetitive food that fills the gap but won’t win any awards (as the island is not self sufficient and does not get daily deliveries).
Fan cooling and breeze is sufficient - don’t bother with aircon room.
Hammocks and shade dotted around, you’ll soon find a daily spot to return to.
Tips:
Take your own bottled water sufficient for your stay.
Coffee addicts - take a metal French press, water and coffee( hot water available).
People who are light sleepers - take earplugs.
Waterproof your bags and electronic/ devices. The small boat for transfers will get you and everything wet if there is swell, and if you are in rainy season everything , everything! Will be damp or wet.
Take a few clothes pegs for drying things.
BYO mask snorkel fins.
Rainy season - take an umbrella or festival poncho
Feet, take a small brush, the sand has ash all through it, your feet get surprisingly filthy.
Sun- take something for swim sun protection Rashie etc and reef safe sunblock. The snorkeling is good further out from the beach and water warm, it’s easy to get burnt by staying in too long.
The island is aimed at the Schoolies crowd , so when busy I imagine it’s pretty feral/fun depending on your reason for going.
Daily day trippers mean there’s a different vibe depending on who is visiting. But it’s possible to stay seperate outside of meal times.
Super Loud music and announcements in the bar gets a bit much sometimes and the TV is on continuously in the dinning area.
Captive turtles are sad - much better to see them in the wild, Which would be likely as there is turtle grass all around the island. The turtles are not thriving and are in fresh treated drinking water which is damaging them.
This is a small island which means power, water, sewage all rely on a diesel generator running 24/7.
I don’t mind the continuous hum for sleeping, but some folks might.
Water in the rooms is sometimes not on at night or early morning, so adjust your routines accordingly.

Fabulous stay
Some little noise at night due to the water treatment plant but it was covered by the sound of waves so no worries!

Nice location
Some of the staff were lovely
dorms are quite run down
toilets aren’t very clean (hair on the floor, cockroaches)
my dorm was next to a noisy generator/machine - I asked if I could be moved and they said no (even though the island wasn’t fully booked)
not enough gluten free options
dorm didn’t lock so felt uneasy at night time
felt like the staff focused on the day trippers more than the people staying on the island

I stayed for seven nights with my five year old. The staff and other guests were great. The island was not at full occupancy so there was a relaxed vibe and Mama Lesi is a power pack who does a superb job of keeping everything ticking. We had an oceanfront bungalow which was clean and adequate. There is some healthy coral you can snorkel to off the main sandy beach about 40 metres out and I even saw some white tipped reef sharks which was awesome. They also have two snorkelling trips a day with their boat which are quite short in duration but worthwhile. They do offer day trips but I can't comment on those as we were happy just staying on the island. Meals were fine and beverage prices seemed fair. It's not a five star resort but if you take a positive outlook you will have a five star time there. They offer babysitting for ten dollars/hour but we didn't need that as my five year old was made welcome to join in with karaoke and dancing. Some nights were quiet and some nights we left the party people to it. The double kayak was ten dollars for an hour but with the weight disparity it was like trying to steer a flat saucer for us which was fun all the same. If you want flippers take your own as there are none available. Water is $6.50 for a large bottle. For people with children I would recommend reef shoes. I took my own immodium and Mylanta as am susceptible to digestive issues so would recommend this for anyone in the same boat. Many thanks to Beachcomber for a fun stay with your awesome staff.
There was quite a bit of rubbish that had washed ashore but we just picked it up. I last visited the island 20 years ago and the beach has eroded in that time (as have I🤗) also apparent on the other islands we passed. Cigarette smoke 'added' to the retro vibe.
