The location is perfect, right in the centre of the old town. But it was still quiet at night. The hostal was quirky with vintage furniture and pictures. stairs would not be easy with luggage but they are currently putting in a lift.

lighting for reading in the room could have been a bit brighter.

they were very friendly and convenient location but very loud outside. also, could hear everyone coming and going inside the hotel.

it was under construction, the stairs were dark with electrical cords running across them, it was noisy, and our drains in the shower in the bathroom sink were clogged and barely drained. also, breakfast was just a bunch of processed food.

I loved staying here and I was sad to leave. The building is very cool, my room was large and had great character (I love historical buildings), and it was quiet. The furniture was very cool and I loved the exposed stone walls. Breakfast was great and I loved knowing that that was taken care of. The staff is so nice and helpful and the location is phenomenal, with lots of shops, bars and restaurants, and sights in the immediate vicinity. So much is walkable from here. My room had air con, which was very helpful as it was warm. After hours check-in was very easy.

The bed and pillows could have been a little more comfortable but I slept fine.

The vibe of the place is unmatched! Quirky style, gorgeous balconies, in one of the nicest streets in Bilbao!

The location is great and the staff were so friendly and helpful :) the room itself was nice with a comfy bed & shower had good water pressure. Since my room didn’t overlook the street there was no audible noise from bars/restaurants and most of the time it was really quiet

The bathroom smelled really mouldy so the door had to always be shut or the smell leaked out into the room and (maybe because we chose the most basic option) our only window looked out into a sort of courtyard that also smelled really mouldy so I could never have the window open or have fresh air, and there was basically no natural light. Our room was also near the reception/breakfast area so by around 8:25 it was impossible to continue sleeping as there was a lot of noise due to the breakfast being set up and people talking (though I guess if you’re on holiday you’d usually be up by then) and also the lift is undergoing construction until next year so there is drilling from 10am onwards

We really appreciated how we've been welcome. People were really nice with us and gave us information on the city, what we should do / see, etc... The room was quite nice as well, spacious and comfy bed.

It would have been great not to be waken up by a neighbor shouting at a cat at 4 A.M. but I guess it's also part of Bilbao's charm :)

Very friendly and helpful staff and excellent location in the old city. We had a large ensuite room with a large, reasonably comfortable double bed and a good sized shower room with a good shower. The room was quiet as it looked over a side courtyard.

A fantastic location, right in the centre of the old town. We loved having a balcony so we could sit and watch the world go by. The place has a lot of character, but is very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The staff are exceptionally helpful and pleasant. There are lots of great little grocery stores close by, and we loved the Charamel cafe just up the street.

Our key card stopped working a couple of times, but the staff were super helpful in sorting it out very quickly. I really can't fault the Iturrienea Ostatua, it's a brilliant place and great value for money.
