The owner tried to say there was extra charges for early check in and also a 25 pound per person deposit required, none of which are explained when booking. Also wouldn’t let us pay by card insisted on us paying by bank transfer that seemed very strange. Wouldn’t give us back our luggage and then assaulted one of us. Pure disaster from start to finish. Wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone.

Nothing. The place was a bombsite.
Facilities were a joke, no towels we had to pay £5 to borrow towels. Staff were rude. Place was outdated and absolutely nothing like the pictures shown. Room was smelling of damp, beds were really uncomfortable.
The member of staff asked for a £50 deposit and because the cash was in the car I asked to pay it later, This was fine until the next morning he came barging into my room demanding £110 for deposit and the fact 1 extra person was in the room. We had a 4 person room and at this point was only 3 of us. He was in our faces shouting and pointing at us and put us out the room. I had trousers and a bra on in my bed and asked him to leave so I could get changed and get my stuff together. He denied me this then proceeded to phone the police saying we were attacking him.. yet he was the one in our faces shouting and balling squaring up to a girl. Shocking behaviour and a total waste of police time.
With this meant we were stranded in Newcastle with nowhere to stay as this was after the first night and we had booked for 2 nights. I will be contacting booking.com to get my money back for the 2nd night, the member of staff was out of order and could have managed it in a different manner instead of his bad attitude, anger and unprofessionalism.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AT ALL. Don't give these wasters your money.

Nothing the staff were rude, it was freezing cold, dirty. would never stay again

Quiet and room temperature OK, beds were comfortable enough.
On arrival we were told we had to pay a £50 upfront deposit, despite this not being mentioned anywhere on the listing.
The room was pretty small for 3 people to share, and compared to cheaper hostels I've stayed at in the past this was nothing special. Not centrally located, staff not helpful.
The main issue was the bathroom - no toiletries except hand soap, and the sloping roof meant the shower head was extremely low and so none of us could even use the shower comfortably. We found this out after being charged £1 per towel to use as well! My 6 foot friend would've had to lie down in the bath. We asked reception if there were any shared bathrooms or more suitable rooms, but they said it was 'the same in every room' - not clear on the listing at all. It would be beneficial if they provided some shared bathroom facilities so taller guests could actually wash.
I know accommodation is getting more expensive everywhere but even then, for the price paid it felt a complete rip-off. For over £100 a night being able to wash properly isn't a lot to ask for.

was great for what we needed it for! not too close for going out we needed a taxi. Everything was easy enough, rooms were tidy and clean but was cold.
you had to tell them if you wanted the heat on, was very cold coming into the room. We had to bank transfer the monies which was really awkward. Especially as 2 of my party were with a local banking society that don’t operate on a weekend so the funds didn’t go through straight away - this caused a problem as they didn’t understand that the money would go through eventually.

Very good location & rooms were very spacious
Had to enquire about the shower as was cold. Not sure if they have a certain amount of hot water.

The owner is an exceptional host, made me feel welcome and looked after. The room was warm and comfortable at nights and I felt well-rested in the mornings. It was very clean and great value for money.
The only thing I would change is the very bright white top light in the room with no alternative source of light.

It was within walking distance from the stadium. The staff were helpful
I booked what I thought was a room with four single beds. ‘Our room’ was a small room
right beside the open front door with only 2 bunk beds! My son is disabled as am I. o said we needed a room with single beds & with more room. we were shown a slightly bigger room (sleeps 5) upstairs with 2 bunk beds but a double bed on the bottom of one. Its all they had so we had to take it. WE ALREADY PAID FOR 4 ppl TRAVELLED WITH ONLY 2ppl. THEN!!!! I was asked to pay another £40!!!! Absolutely awful! considering we are disabled with a staff member. the rooms are very very basic. No curtains, broken toilet roll holder, thermostat not working on the shower so hard to set a safe water temperature. Absolutely basic bit you do get a clean comfy bed & breakfast is delivered hot to the room in plastic box & plastic cutlery but it tasted amazing!

the price
very basic, uncomfortable beds with thin pillows and duvets, weird lighting that makes you feel like you're working in a secret underground lab, small shower, poor heating, difficulty in parking (would be nice to know where I am going prior to my stay rather than be told that I will be shown on the day as I had to park elsewhere to walk to the property just to walk back)

Nothing dreadful place in a run down rough area with rude owners/staff
We arrived at the property ‘with parking’ there is no carpark just a disgusting residential street with rubbish everywhere that looks the kind of area you would come back to find your car missing, we walked around to the front and entered reception to two men that spoke poor English were on the desk, they were rude, they gave us paper work and told we had to pay a £50 damage deposit, I questioned this as the paperwork and policy on booking states £20; he mentioned about a group that had broke a shower tray and it cost £500 to repair (I doubt anything in this place cost £500) and now it’s £50, we had just driven 5 a half hours and didn’t know the area, so just paid the £50, at this point we were told there is a room where the tea and coffee & fridge is, it’s not in room as implied and that towels are charged at £1 each and that if we get cold we need to ask at reception for the heat to be put on 😳 bearing in mind this is a £68 per night room, I was a little taken aback.

Very clean, tidy and friendly staff
Rooms advertised as 5 or 6 person rooms but it doesn’t tell you that some of the beds are double beds so people end up having to share beds.

Staff were amazing - friendly and helpful well beyond expectations. Excellent value for money!!
Not much really. Was what you would expect at that price point.

Location was good, is a basic but easy stay.
The HEAT. we checked in and were getting ready- it was a warm day. We were in the attic room with just one window and it was already warm on arrival. We got ready mostly with the door open to let some draft in but had to shut it when the rooms opposite filled with a stag do. We couldn’t keep our make up on our faces as it was too hot but we thought surely it’ll cool down by the time we are home about 6 hours later. Good lord we were wrong, the room was so unbearably hot that we couldn’t sleep. We went and asked reception for a fan or SOMETHING but we they said they’d already given them out and blamed us for not asking sooner. They then suggested we sleep with our bedroom door open. Eventually they offered to get us another room of which the staff has already been sleeping in!! We paid for a fresh room. In the end we just lay awake in the beds and sweated until it was time to leave the next morning for our long drive home. The room
Itself was satisfactory, clean enough but poorly equipped and the walls were chipped paint etc. Wouldn’t recommend.

The room is really basic, but for budget travellers is ok. The room as well as the kitchen and surroundings very clean. Staff helpful and nice. Access to the well equipped kitchen was a big plus.
Really noisy, you can hear every word of other guests ....

We booked a double room with private bathroom. All basic needs are available. The room is clean and spacious. The best thing is the owner, he is willing to serve. He offered us having tea and cookies. He even dropped us to the train station. Thank you sleeperdorm...
Nothing. Everything is good. However, it is much better if they put a mat in the bath room.

I liked everything
