Great location and nice rooms

Pool was small and a lot of foliage dropped into the pool daily.

The location is amazing right off 5th a block from the mall. The restuarants and things to do are unstoppable. The hotel is very quaint and quiet. It is very clean and the staff was super helpful and nice. The pool is shaded most of the day so not alot of sun. There is a rooftop with amazing fews but it gets hot up there. The beach places are nice but very pricey for what you get. The were 1,000 to 1,500 paseos per person. The beach on the side of the Wyndam was our favorite. Bring a beach blanket and or chairs and an umbrella and you will be set.

The bed and couch were hard. Otherwise we had a great experience.

Staff was friendly and helpful.

However, the room we stayed in the shower head couldn't detach from the wall and the sink was too small, therefore we had no way to bathe our baby. Unfortunately we had to check out early with no refund.

the location is good the hotel is in the middle of the tourist area but can be noisy. the staff was kind especially the guy who worked in night shift and was responsible for the breakfast

the bed was very uncomfortable, the shower head was broken and the toilette didn’t flush properly and it got stuck on our first day. they prepared it but we had the same issue on our last day. however we heard it is “normal” if the hotel is so close to the ocean but we didn’t have this issue in other hotels during our vacation. only 4 tables to eat your breakfast so on a busy morning you had to wait to get your food and sit down.

The staff at Acanto Hotel are really good and helpful. The location of the hotel is very convenient -- steps away from 5th Avenue pedestrian and shopping street, and a 5-10 minute walk to multiple beach access points. The inner courtyard of the hotel is very nice and relaxing.

Our room was very dark. It is located on the first floor and had no windows... only the glass double door entrance. For being in a world-class beach town, we barely saw any sun or scenery from our room. Maybe other rooms on upper floors of the hotel are better. Also, the room lighting is not very good. Dim lamps and overhead lights, or bright white florescent overhead lights. Not very cozy. Also, the furniture and decorations in the room were very simple - a futon/sofa in the main room was not so comfortable for sitting.

Most of the roof access was private so it wasn't that large.

No elevator. Water pressure in the shower is not good. Also it might get too noisy at night due to proximity to 5th avenue

Basic Breakfast but adequately to meet guest needs. Adequate air-conditioner. Central location.

No room cleaning everyday. Towels are a bit old and used. No tea or coffee packs compliments. TV is too small and no paid TV subscription to watch world cup.

We felt very safe in this hotel. Miguel guarded the doors 24/7. He put up with us going in and out of the hotel several times a day and all hours of the day.

The beds were like sleeping on the floor. Very uncomfortable.

Extremely friendly and professional personal and very good located in Playa del Carmen.

The location of being right on Fifth Avenue made it a wonderful place to spend some time. Wonderful staff and great views from the rooftop.

Plumbing needs work, toilet didn’t flush very well, shower head could use some cleaning, bathroom sink faucet was loose.

The staff was so nice. The location was excellent. Close to everything. The room was huge.

The room was fantastic, really spacious, great facilities, clean and modern, and with really good air conditioning, which was very reliable. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and it's in a great location just off Calle Quinta.

The breakfast was a bit basic, and also difficult to get food when it was busy.
