There were bits of dirt and even rice found in the bed, between the sheets and the the blanket, and between the blanket and that decorative cloth that they put on the top of the bed. While housekeeping was very apologetic, she used her hand to pat away the dirt onto the floor and changed the blanket cover ONLY (not the bed sheet). and with the decorative cloth (which looks very dirty and old, not sure how it is decorating..) she rolled it up and placed it into the cabinet. i.e. together with the dirt and rice. I wonder why not take it away and have it washed?

The employees are the best! They are welcoming and helpful.

The property is a bit dated. Needs some renovation.

this is my second stay at The Goodwood. I love it’s a historical building, although it has a modern extension. it’s situation makes you feel you are in a peaceful oasis far away from the noise of Orchard Road. the pool is just a heavenly place to relax in. the rooms are spacious with plenty of storage and beds are comfortable. The staff are friendly and willing to help . I came to Singapore after a 13 hour flight with a terrible migraine, unfortunately. The counter staff were extremely helpful and ensured I didn’t need to wait too long for my room so I could sleep. can’t thank them enough. I love the personal touch that you cannot find in large high rise hotels.

The rooms are very dated, hotel badly needs a renovation, breakfast was limited and there was no egg station. What a pity because this grand old dame could be so lovely with some TLC. You can stay in nicer hotels at this rate.

Goodwood Park is an institution and is proud of what it is.It is definitely not a chain hotel and it is not run by an accountant.Staying here is a privilege which never disappoints.Our ground floor room opened up to the pool area, was spacious, quiet and unchanged by fashion.It is timeless.

Eating options were limited as there were special New Year functions on.

This hotel building has plenty of charm and is in a fabulous location just off the Orchard Road. The room was comfortable We enjoyed the buffet high tea by the pool - there was a great selection The pool area had a nice garden feel despite being in the middle of the city The Concierge staff were very helpful

The man staying in the room opposite had a loud party with music and singing in his room until 3.30am and then said loud farewells to his numerous visitors in the corridor despite me asking him to be quiet. The hotel seems to have many official party areas for functions that were busy at the weekend but they should not allow people to continue them and invite groups back to bedrooms. The other thing that was not in keeping with a hotel that has pretensions like this was my being confronted by a member of staff at our door in the evening , carrying a card reader. We had had the (indifferent quality) breakfast that morning and had given the staff our room number at the time.I had not realised I was also supposed to sign for it. Later in the day I was called to reception to sign for it which was absolutely fine. But then later having a demand for card payment was a big surprise. The staff member explained that he had been ordered up because we had ‘insufficient credit’ on our account. This was despite our paying the 3 night hotel charge upfront and this being only 1 day in. This is not how guests at a premium hotel should be treated. Finally, the building is probably due a refurbishment. There is an air of faded grandeur inside and out - some fresh paint, new carpets and some scrubbing etc would be in order
