With a small investment in amenities and better attention to details this place could be a "10".
The facility was spacious, with three bedrooms and bathrooms, plus a sleeping loft . It occupies top three levels of a five story building. We were a party of two, so we only occupied a portion of the large facility. A clothes washing machine was available on the top level patio. There is a lot of space for a modest price.
1. Initial directions were poor. Upon arrival, neither the cab driver nor his dispatcher knew the location of the little pedestrian-only alley ("Sqaq Toni Bajada") upon which the building is located. (It's not found on Google Maps). Republic Street" is a main thoroughfare, running northeasterly right through the heart of Valletta. The cabby dropped us off at the top of the Republic Street hill, at St. George's Square. We toted luggage up & down the hill looking for the duplex, to no avail. Adding to confusion, there is a nearby place named Republic Street Apartment. If the host would have simply shared that the unit is located on the aforementioned alley, at the bottom of the hill, a block & a half from the end of Republic St., it would have saved us a couple of hours of grief. At least it wasn't after sundown. 2. The building's entry door off the alley, and the apartment door at the top of the steep staircase on the third floor, involve push-button code boxes and key lock-boxes. These are well-explained in the house handbook found on the kitchen table. But that does little good when trying to gain initial entry upon arrival. 3. This apartment should garner a "10", with a little more attention to details. Austere amenities, e.g. two coffee pods, no dish or paper towels, no laundry soap, no functional wifi, warrant demerits. Then there is the pay-as-you-go electricity. On day two (of four) of our stay, the power on the first and second level went out. (No lights, no refrigerator or coffee machine). The house handbook explained that there is a meter and one may purchase more electricity on-line with a credit card. I followed their procedure, to no avail. Fortunately, the power remained on the top floor, which was most useful for charging phones and such. 4. The sun deck, with lovely patio furniture, was covered with a layer of brown dust.

We had a lovely stay - but would NEVER stay at a Tritoni/Short Lets Malta property ever again.
We had a really lovely stay in Valetta, but not in the property we expected! We had booked the Republic Street Duplex and found our way there (bus from airport and a short walk). However street names were a challenge (there wasn't one) and although we had been given the door code via text after I had spoken to Tritoni (Short Lets Malta) no one actually told us we'd been upgraded to a different apartment! That was very nice, but then the address given was incorrect so we had to phone back and forth several times. Pedro the manager was very helpful on the day in eventually directing us to the right apartment St Paul Street. Very handy convenience shop right opposite the apartment. Loads of great bars, cates, restaurants close by to eat in.
Whilst we had been given an upgraded apartment with a jacuzzi (we didn't really want or need one) on the roof terrace, when we lifted the lid there was no way we'd have used it. Looked like it was full of debris & leaves from over the winter. We did report it to Tritoni to ensure they didn't think we'd left it in that state & charge us. The major issue we had with this holiday and Tritoni Hotel Apartments (Short Lets Malta) was on return. We were there for 6 nights in early March. They had taken a deposit on my credit card of 300 Euros in November 2022 when we made the booking. However, instead of deducting the deposit, they then charged the full amount on my credit card during our stay. I raised this via the booking.com message service and Pedro acknowledged the mistake and said he would arrange with the finance dept to process the refund. There was bit of back & forth as I wanted this credited to my credit card, not via bank transfer. Pedro was very helpful & pleasant, but clearly did not have sufficient authority when it came to refunds. After several weeks, by which time no one at Trintoni /Short Lets Malta were responding to phone calls, emails text messages or facebook messages I contacted Booking. com customer services. They were great and took the issue up with Tritoni/Short Lets of Malta. Booking.com couldn't seem to get any resolution so they credited the money back to me direct. Thank you Booking.com great service. However, none of us would use Tritoni/Short Lets Malta ever again. Whilst the apartment was reasonably spacious & pretty well equipped, it looked as if it was the first let of the season and had been given a lick of paint over the winter, however it could have been a bit cleaner. Some of the bathrooms could do with a complete update. Lots of rusting shower heads/shelves.

Excellent property very clean and comfortable staff keen to help tho sometimes hard to reach
Location was very accessible for all the attractions eating, sight seeing, going out for trips etc
Directions to the property ! Address reads Republic Street but you actually have to walk to the bottom of the street and take a small rd on the right

Large with plenty of room for a family of 5. Good location in Valletta. The apartment was clean.
Not good communication with the host. I requested an airport taxi 3 times, and didn't hear back. Building keypad was not working. We used the emergency key each time we entered. Beds not comfortable.

Lovely apartment in a good location
The apartment was close to lots of bars and restaurants and was nicely laid out and clean. It could comfortably sleep 6 adults. The staff were very helpful and arranged airport transfers for us and provided lots of information when we checked in.
