We spent 8 nights on the Starry Banner and it was fantastic! The location is perfect. Easy walking to shops and restaurants and a quick drive to Nags Head and beyond. The boat had everything we needed and it was so relaxing to be there. The only drawback was spotty internet, but I just took that as a good sign that I should unplug! I would definitely recommend a stay here.

This was an adventure. Great spot with wonderful views of the water. Our hosts were lovely people and we look forward to coming back next year. It’s a must stay.

From the welcoming quaint town of Manteo to the exceptional hosts - this was a vacation we will never forget! The Starry Banner offered us everything we could ask for while exploring the Outer Banks! My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary aboard the Starry Banner boat in Monteo, and it was truly unforgettable! Even more special, we brought our two cats, and they surprisingly loved it despite being boat novices. The boat itself was a sight to behold - elegant, spacious, and immaculately clean. Its location on the dock provided stunning views that enhanced the experience. We were so captivated by its beauty that we extended our trip by an extra day. Relishing the boat life, we spent hours on the upper deck, absorbing the charming vibes of Monteo town. It felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience we'll always treasure. Katherine and Dan, the hosts, were warm and caring. They recommended local restaurants, ensuring we savored the best of Monteo's cuisine. They even suggested the finest beach in Nags Head. Our stay was beyond delightful, and we're already planning to return soon. The Starry Banner boat is an exceptional choice for a unique vacation in Monteo. Highly recommended!

Katherine and Dan are truly wonderful hosts! I traveled solo with my pup, Oakley Alexander (Yorkie), and they ensured we both had a wonderful stay! The Starry Banner was cozy and had had a nice ‘homey’ feel…very nicely decorated and equipped with everything I needed, and more! The best experience on the boat is being rocked gently to sleep every night! For the busy professional, this is HEAVEN! I traveled to the OBX for a change of scenery…a ‘workation,’ if you will, and although I worked most days during the week on the boat, I found it very relaxing and just what I needed to power through a tough week! On a scale of 1-5, I give my experience with Katherine and Dan a 10!

Had a fantastic stay on the Starry Banner! Really appreciate how clean it was - I'm talking VERY clean. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking supplies (pots, pans, dishes, etc.) so we had fun making some meals on the boat. Definitely recommend if you want an out of the ordinary stay in the OBX.

My husband would like to live on a boat so what better way to see what it would be like than to rent one for a few nights. It was a wonderful relaxing experience. We would definitely rent a boat again. Manteo is a very welcoming town, we really enjoyed the area and our stay on the Starry Banner.

This was a comfortable place to stay, in a beautiful spot. We loved being close to the town of Manteo. We enjoyed sitting on the boat in the mornings and evenings for coffee and wine. Very comfortable sleeping!

I’ve spent a lot of time in Manteo and on every trip I’ve passed by The Starry Banner as I’ve walked the boardwalk - and wondered what it be like to stay on the yacht. During the 11th Annual Bluegrass Island Festival I finally had the opportunity to do so, and it a truly wonderful experience! A stay on The Starry Banner, in my opinion, is the perfect way to truly experience the spirit of Manteo. My time was spent taking foggy morning strolls over to Charis Coffee and good exchanging morning greetings with folks along the boardwalk, enjoying a glass of wine beneath a star filled sky, browsing all of great local shops, catching sunrise at the Roanoke Island Lighthouse, and dining at the nearby restaurants. I was in town to photograph the festival at the Roanoke Island Festival Park that’s located just over the bridge from where The Starry Banner is docked. My days were long but the bed was a cozy slice heaven! That mixed with Shallowbag Bay gently rocking me to sleep and I had some of the best nights of sleep that I’ve had in a long time. The interior of the yacht is very clean, well decorated, & has a very good nautical vibe to it. Storing belongings as well food & drinks was simple with plenty of space. The onboard handbook not only provided plenty of helpful information but it also made staying on the yacht a learning experience thanks to added details and vocabulary about the boat. The location is perfect for spending time in downtown Manteo but most certainly if you’re attending any of the events at the festival park. Staying in downtown Manteo is also an excellent way to have a central base camp for seeing everything that The Outer Banks has to offer. I made trips to Bodie Island Lighthouse, Pea Island, Buxton & Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, Elizabethan Gardens, Kill Devil hills, plus more - and all were easily accessible with a beautiful drive. I could go on but I’ll cut myself off with simply saying that if you’re looking for a unique experience that allows you to take in the beauty & true spirit of Manteo - The Starry Banner needs to be on your “Book The Trip!” list! I know I’ll certainly be back! Cheers!

Had a wonderful time! Super location, walking distance to cute boutiques, coffee, Poor Richard's Sandwiches, and minutes drive to many restaurants. We enjoyed sitting up on top of the deck, to watch the world go by and bask in the moment with our drinks in hand. Amenities below were carefully explained in advance as well as an informative book. Katherine and Dan are engaging as well as respectful of your time. They proved to be warm and engaging during our sunset sail with their other sailing vessel in the same marina. I surprised my husband and he took to sailing quite well. Dan was kind enough to allow both of us solid time with learning how to sail. We were able to bring our 2 dogs on board both water craft. We were mindful and very respectful of how well they maintained the Starry Banner. Katherine and Dan helped us to make wonderful memories together. Katherine recommended a place to stop to pick up fresh seafood on Sunday for our trip home. Super, lovely , memorable experience. We will surely miss the Starry Banner and our delightful hosts - Katherine and Dan.

We cannot say enough about how wonderful this trip wasn’t to Manteo. Starry Banner was a great boat! A very unique VRBO experience. The boat was set up to perfection and the owners, Katherine and Dan were extremely helpful and accommodating. They had great suggestions of where to explore and eat. We highly recommend staying on Starry Banner, a true memory maker. Also, Willow, our dog was very welcomed on the boat.

If you are looking for something unique and memorable, this is the reservation to make. The Starry Banner is absolutely beautiful. It was so much fun. The hosts are incredible and make you feel very welcome. One of a kind experience. Can't wait to go back.

Glorious time, we booked a quick weekend get away that went by too fast on the Starry Banner. The boat was significantly bigger than we expected! all in all so lovely having coffee and wine and watching the world go by.

Katherine and Dan were the perfect hosts, with perfect accommodations. All of the comforts of home while on a beautiful, large boat central to everything in the Outer Banks! Do not be hesitant about vacationing on a boat when you have a luxury yacht like this! It was the perfect place to spend a week to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and we couldn’t have had more fun! Spacious gallley in which we prepared several meals and all breakfasts. Spacious salon and the flybridge was our place of relaxation, after busy days visiting north and south along the coast, to view the most amazing sunsets. The Marina is central to many local restaurants and the local seafood markets were superb! It is truly a must do venue! Thank you, Katherine and Dan! It was truly a pleasure to spend our anniversary aboard The Starry Banner!

We had such a great time, everything was awesome. All the people staying there at the docks treated us like family. I can't say enough about the owners, they were genuinely concerned that we had everything we needed, and that we were having a great time. The boat was beautiful and very spacious. You can tell that the owners take pride in it. We will be sure to stay there again the next time we are in Manteo.

We loved our stay on Starry Banner! The hosts were exceptionally friendly and hospitable, they truly try to provide for your every need. Old town Manteo is so quaint and a short drive to various attractions and, of course, the beaches of OBX! Definitely would stay here again.

Manteo is a wonderful unique town with Galleries, museums, quaint shops, restaurants, and music. Living on the Starry Banner made it so special. Will come back!!

We had a relaxing and fun stay on Starry Banner. The yatch is beautiful and very clean. It was fun meeting other people staying at the Marina. Our dog had a blast staying on the water every day. Can't wait to get back to Starry Banner in beautiful Manteo NC.

The Starry Banner is a vintage and unique treasure. We enjoyed so many things about our stay, including the comfortable bed, quiet location, outdoor (fly bridge) lounge, access to kayaks, the walkable town with tasty restaurants and so much more. It was a romantic and relaxing vacation, a second honeymoon. Our hosts Dan and Katherine were terrific! They made everything perfect with their excellent communication and suggestions for best beaches & restaurants. The little details like fresh flowers from their garden, down-stuffed bedding and their hosting a sailing adventure where we played with the dolphins were wonderful and unexpected. Celebrating the 4th of July, on a bicentennial yacht under the Manteo fireworks added to the fun. We had a magical visit and would do it again in a heartbeat! Thanks so much!

What a great and unique experience. We enjoyed just sitting on the boat in the evening with a cocktail and talking to people who strolled by on the boardwalk. You literally are in walking distance of shops and restaurants in quaint downtown Manteo. It is a quick drive to go sit on a beach and relax. Plus all kinds of things to do and see on the outer banks. Dan and Kathy were absolutely wonderful hosts. We even had flowers on the boat along with an anniversary card. Very special.

I loved staying on the boat! I would absolutely rent this property again. It’s a boat so be prepared to watch your head and adjust to some smaller spaces. The marina and local folks were wonderful as were the hosts. It’s a great central location in OBX for day trips north or south. About 10 minutes to the beach. Lots of cute shops and restaurants in town and a fabulous boardwalk for jogs and walks.

My husband and I (and lovely dog) wanted a getaway where we could relax in a quiet setting, enjoy the water, wildlife, the quiet beaches, and friendly people. Perfect on all levels. Highlight was kayaking in the early morning around the marshes. Loved it!!!
