The Kona Makai features and includes lush tropical gardens, heated ocean front pool and spa, sunny lounge area, 2 work out rooms, eating area w/ gas BBQ’s, tennis courts, covered parking, free wireless internet, cable TV and is gated during the night for security. This is a top floor unit with a loft and high open beam ceilings. It has both front and back covered lanais with full sliding glass doors equipped with screens. The owners have thought of every possible amenity to accommodate your every need. TAT TAX ID: TA-009-255-1680-01 STVR#19-376656 **All guests are required to sign a rental agreement with Property Manager Property Management in addition to purchasing a Damage Protection Plan or providing a Security Deposit if they stay at this property. Love the Kona Makai condo's! Great location, beautiful setting. First time in this condo. Very well set up, but did have a few minor issues. Ice maker in Refrigerator didn't work and no ice cube trays provided; blender didn't work; lovely selection of wine glasses, but no wine bottle opener; nice coffee maker, but would have been nice to have a few filters supplied. Since we were only there for 5 days, these items would have been appreciated. Otherwise, the place was great to stay in. Loft area was great for our granddaughter.

Nice location, but, need huge clean up- I mean carpet, wall , ceiling. I clean the bathroom fan stuck in the 1/2 inches dust. ... also the owner did not respect the contract prices

Nice place to stay, comfortable with a very limited view of the ocean from the Lanai, no ice trays or ice-maker. Knutson quickly provided beach towels and missing batteries for TV remote when notified. Easy check-in.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay
Our rented accommodation was even better than expected. Very comfortable in every way, including beds, fans, air con, sofas, balcony comfort. It had everything we could have needed and the washing machine and tumble dryer were appreciated. Lovely view from the balcony. Well kept grounds which were beautiful with plants and flowers. Pool well maintained and really enjoyable to be in. Would highly recommend.

Feels like my Hawaiian Second Home
The overall experience for this rental was amazing! The place was clean, had pretty well everything we needed for the week, and the communication with the rental company was seamless!.
We really liked that this property is away from the busier area, as you aren’t fighting traffic every time you go back and forth to places.

Perfect place for a family vacation
This condo was a great place for us. It has much more of a down home feel than the newer resorts. Though the lay out was better than the more expensive places too. We loved grilling by the pool, which is also right by the ocean, watching dolphins from our patio, and the frequent sightings of geckos both outside and in!

A Great Place to Stay!
This unit was perfect for our family of 4. Our kids, 12 and 14, loved the loft. The ladder is very steep so not suitable for young children. We enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner on the lanai. You can see the ocean when standing and sitting in one spot. If they had a higher table, bar height, the view would be better. We watched the sunset every night from the hot tub and pool, sometimes having the whole pool to ourselves. This condo is more suited for older children as kids under 14 are not allowed in the hot tub and strict rules for playing and splashing in the pool. We enjoyed not having a lot of young children around, very quiet and peaceful. The condo is in a great location to drive either north or south. You do need to drive at least 20-40 minutes to get to the nice white sand beaches. We didn't mind though, we drove around the entire island. Kona is close and you could walk, but we always drove as it was too hot to walk along the road. There wasn't much for beach supplies, no chairs or proper cooler, but we made do with what we had. Kitchen was well stock with everything you need. Family also enjoyed playing ping pong and tennis. The property management company was great to deal with, very responsive. We would totally stay here again!

Great View and responsive staff
We enjoyed a wonderful time at Kona Makai. Knutson and Associates staff were responsive to our inquires, fixed a squeaky toilet and helped us resolve an issue on checkout. Nothing beats a waterfront complex with a unit that has views from both lanais. Multiple air conditioning units kept us nice and cool.

A great place to stay
We enjoyed our stay here. The property is right on the water. Nice place to watch the sunset and the other occupants/tenants were friendly. The pool and jacuzzi were delightful. A few things I wish I knew before renting here. There's no coffee, you have to buy your own and there IS a hair dryer. The bathroom could definitely use some updating but that in no way affected our stay. I'm sure that sort of thing is important to some, but we just loved it and it was perfect for us.

First Stay in Kona
Great condo development. The grounds are amazing. The unit and the appliances are dated but clean. I visited other units in the same complex that were updated and much nicer, so I guess it depends on the relative price difference. The TV did not work. One of the two air conditioners did not work but the management company has a portable air conditioner installed as a temporary replacement which worked well. However, the portable used a lot of the limited countertop space. If you have children, I noticed the hot tub was limited to those over 12. It is a 1.5-mile easy walk to downtown Kona.

Amazing rental!
This rental was the perfect location, and had an amazing pool! The kitchen was FULLY stocked, as well as the linen closet. We had a couple of issues during our stay, but the management team bent over backwards to make things right. The unit was very clean and the king size bed was delightful! Would definitely recommend this unit to everyone!

Good value for staycation. Nice View. Condo kitchen was very well equipped. The unit is very far from parking and no elevator to the 3rd floor. Seemed very dated overall.

Just Fine
Kona Makai 3-302 served my needs. A lovely gift basket greeted me. A bit of an ocean view. No elevator so be prepared to go up 3 floors of stairs. Plenty of fans, but it is pretty hot in the daytime. Great location. Down by the pool is a lovely spot right on the ocean to watch sunsets. For the price, you can't beat it. I wouldn't recommend trying to use the loft...steep ladder to get up there. All in all, I'd stay again.

Paradise with COVID19, still great!
We annually rent Kona Makai condo 3-302 for the month of March. This is our 18th year at the Kona Makai; we've stayed in various condos but this is definitely the best! Once you get your bags & groceries up to the 3rd level, you'll find a well-equipped unit with a great view of the ocean. The owners are meticulous in their upkeep & cleaning before we arrive. We enjoy the KM: watching sunset with other guests, snorkeling in front without dealing with sand, the friendly & relaxed atmosphere. This year was unique due to COVID19 with beaches, shops closed and restaurants on takeout our last two weeks but it was still paradise!

Great place for a family!
A great place for a family of 6 to stay. Close to the ocean and not far from beaches. It had everything you needed and then some. Beach towels and toys for the beach were even provided. The management company was very easy to work with and very accommodating. At one point the DVD player wasn't producing any sound. I texted the number given to me to use for any problems and the company was very prompt with answers and help. The problems was fixed in no time with some help from the company. I would recommend this property to anyone that asked for recommendations!!

Although we loved the location and the property we found it wasn't suited to our needs. The property is beautifully landscaped but DON'T pick a flower! Wonderful views from the main lanai but noise restrictions are so harsh that actually spending time out there with guests is impossible and DON'T talk on your cell phone! Nice pool and bbq area but again hard to enjoy with noise restrictions. The cleaning staff could possibly use a little overseeing too. We cleaned the kitchen and bathroom as soon as we arrived as they were both questionable. The bedroom had an awful smell and later we almost got charged for cleaning the carpet due to a smell we had nothing to do with! I think overall these units are suited more to an older clientele that just want peace and quiet not for people who are in Hawaii to enjoy evenings outdoors and certainly not families with kids who want to utilize the pool and outdoor areas.

A home place
Everything was great. Had a lot of supplies there to get started like laundry soap dish soap sun hats beach towns grocery bags coffee filter cooking supplies. They definitely made vacationing easy.

Great condo in a great complex. Once my kids got used to the strict pool rules (not enforced during summer)everything was great. 3-302 exceeded my expectations. Gave it a 4 out of 5 stars for clean as I am sure some would say it could have been cleaner (stains on carpet) but hey, it looked like someoneone's (like mine) home.

Hawaii Family Vacation
Great location on the ocean and close to town. The condo felt like home for a week and the kids had a great time! They loved the loft!
It was great to have beach mats, chairs, umbrellas and a boogie board for the beach. The pool was great for those days we wanted to rest a little. We would definitely stay there again!

Kona Makai
Great spot in Kona. Close to town, walking distance is about 1 mile. Great unit for the cost. The with the exception of the couch the furniture was fine. Te cushions on the coach need replacing. Internet service is challenging. Early morning is best and I also noticed I could get on when down by the pool but not in my unit at times. Kona Makai is a very quiet location which was fine for us. I would certainly consider a return to this unit.

Best vacation ever
I rented this condo for my daughter and her family - all adults. They loved it! Comfortable accommodations, with beach gear to take to the beach and there is the best snorkeling right in front of the complex. What more could you want.

Good, clean and affordable
Me and my friends stayed in this place, very close to the things we wanted to do in Kona. It was nice and clean, but the upstairs where the 2 beds are tend to get a bit warm, AC and fan is a must (which they had).
