We Loved our house and everything about it! We had a slight hickup upon arriving; that was taken care of quickly and efficiently by the home owners. The location is very close to a public beach access. I would absolute book this house again.

Excellent location. It truly is close to the beach. A simple stroll or quick run back for forgotten items or to get a snack. This is a family friendly no frills cost effective place. The outside shower is a bonus. We enjoyed the beach, golf courses & restaurants then came home to a game of corn hole. We were 2 families of 6.

We booked this stay to come celebrate a wedding of friends, but also have a personal getaway for ourselves. The house is exactly how its pictured. It is conveniently located near the beach without being up on the water. There are many dining, shopping and entertainment options outside the house, but honestly, not needed. The house offers some board games, TV in every room and beautiful views from 3 separate patios. We will definitely be booking again!

We loved the location and set up of the home. It is just the right size for smaller groups. All the basics were supplied as well as sheets, towels and linens. The black out curtains are awesome as well as the giant beanbag! We loved the local wildlife as well. The home could use some updating and the TV functions/non-functions were confusing. The shower seams needed to be sealed but maybe it was just renovated. We also had a sofa bed break, that had been previously "fixed". All in all, it was a very good stay.

We enjoyed our stay, we loved the location & short walk to the beach. We would love to stay here again. Bathroom door was broken but wasn't a huge deal, also the heat/air was funky to adjust but we made it and overall had a beautiful time.

Lots of interior defects, bathroom door inoperable, heating system insufficient for Jan temperatures, lots of of chilly times. Good neighborhood, guiet street, easy access to beach, bed was comfortable, wifi a bit spotty ,price was good

Wonderful Christmas getaway!! If your looking for a comfortable, relaxing place to stay this is it. Nothing fancy, but has everything you need. The house was close to the beach, clean & had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Despite things that were out of the owners control & ours (who would think at the beach you would have to deal with frozen pipes ..lol mother nature has a mind of her own) my family & I made Christmas memories that we will cherish. The owners were quick to respond & help with the issue we had & even offered other accommodations, but we loved the house so much we stuck it out for a day without water until the pipes thawed out. Over all the house & location is great! Look forward to visiting again someday!

The three of us really liked the location; quiet area, a short walk to the beach, a close drive to restaurants and stores and the layout of the home was open and fun. We each commented though, on how much better it would have been had the house been clean. Mold on the shower curtains, old stained flimsy pillows on the beds, the master bedroom king sized mattress needs replaced…a good bit of TLC and pride in ownership would improve the whole rental experience.

Upon arrival, the property was as described. The keyless door entry made check-in easy. But pretty much goes downhill from there. After using the bathroom, discovered there was no toilet paper. Now, we're there for a week, have no problem buying toilet paper, but, it seemed odd there wasn't any, not even a square too be used before heading off to the grocery store. This becomes the trend, no garbage bags, no dish towels to dry dishes, no paper towels.. again, staying for a week, happy to buy things, but having none is crummy. The dish towels seems like a no brainer if you don't have a dishwasher, so had to use a bathroom towel to dry all the dishes. Moving on to the other issues, the wall up the stairs had significant moisture damage and is literally beginning to peel and pull off the studs. There were multiple outlets that were broken, and yes it's the outlet, as the devices worked in other locations. The windows are rusting and are so dirty one can't really see out of them. The shower on the main floor handle is broken and drips all night, as well as the handle doesn't seem to turn correctly so the water is either scorching hot or freezing cold. All of these are of course minor issues, but all together show a lack of upkeep on the property and made for a less than stellar stay. I would look elsewhere when visiting the area.

Private and perfect location. Short distance to Oregon inlet and piers. House was clean and had plenty of room for parking. Location made for easy access for surf fishing at Oregon inlet and was close to Jeanette's and Outer Bañks fishing piers. Back of the house has a very nice deck. Inside has an open floor plan, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Recommend this property

Home had everything we needed and my family enjoyed our stay. Home was clean and affordable and I would recommend to anyone looking for a getaway that won't break the bank.

The price and location were great

Cottage De A&E was perfect for my family. A bit dated and well-worn but clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for indoor cooking and dining. When we had questions, the owners were responsive and immediately addressed any concerns we had. Perfect location to the beach. We enjoyed our stay very much. Couple of notes: 1) cell phone service is spotty, we only had one bar almost everywhere in the immediate neighborhood. There is Wi-Fi but if it goes out, like it did for our first night, you won’t have any access to the Internet and TV. But there were games and puzzles for entertainment. It’s a great time to unplug from tech. We all participated in putting together a 500 piece puzzle in 2 days. 2) The shower handle requires jiggling to get the water temp right but once you get the hang of it, it’s fine with plenty of hot water.

We had a great time at this quaint, old school beach house. It's was really perfect for us! I loved being able to feel at home while hanging around the house and also able to walk right to the beach in just a few minutes! Love the 3 decks! depending on which time of the day it was, would be the deck of choice. Large back deck in the evenings and the front decks in the morning. Spacious for everyone too. The only con if I had to say one was we brought our big ford truck and it was narrow to park for us. My husband had to make a 3 point turn to get in and out, but was easy to get used to. Overall We would definitely come back!

We jumped in the car to visit all the nearby restaurants and shops. Everything is close by without being right on top of you. Fyi: I suggest bringing extra toilet paper, paper towels, soaps, and your own beach towels. There's a washer and dryer so bring detergent. Food lion and dollar general's are nearby for picking up extras. I'd absolutely stay again.

The property is In a good location to be able to see all the sights. It is located almost in the middle of all the OBX towns. It is walkable distance to the beach and a few restaurants.

The property shows some age but is an excellent deal for a winter stay. It is well equipped close to the areas we most wanted to visit. We are birders (not too serious) and visited Pea Island and Bodie several times. We did breakfast in, lunch was either leftovers or a picnic, and dinner was in a restaurant (Mama Kwan's is our favorite).

The house was well equipped and included all that was in the property description. The owners responded to my questions quickly and were very helpful. We were able to make great meals, slept comfortably and were happy with the stay.

Me, my dad, my brother and nephews had an awesome stay here at Cottage de A & E! Place was a great fit for us while we did some fishing for a few days! Place was nice and accommodating. Owners were available via phone and super nice. Looking forward to staying here again in the future for sure!
