Overnight stay for graduation from college. The place is being renovated so a little messy in the lobby. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was as expected. Bed comfy. Amenities were good.

Your app didn’t say it was under construction and I couldn’t use the gym and the maid opened my door at 0830 for no reason

The staff was A+++++. HOWEVER, The WHOLE hotel is under renovation which we should have been told about before booking. Not cool Marriott. Even the recently "renovated" rooms (one of which we had) left a lot to be desired. Also, the drilling and sawing and dust from construction can be seen and heard everywhere. They even were doing construction of Saturday and Sunday mornings early. We stayed 4 days. WTH Marriott?? Definitely would call before booking this hotel and I wont be staying at a Marriott again in the future if I can help it.

Just one problem someone entered my room while I was in it. I found out later when I spoke to the person at the front that person had checkout of the room. Not sure why his key stilled worked.

No water pressure, water took a solid 5 or 10 minutes to get hot, "Premium WiFi" was useless, and, on a Saturday morning, some dude thought it would be cool to use what sounded like a drill for the next hour and more from 8am until I left around 10.

Not good… bed was broken, not to mention the mattress was sunken in, the outlet in the bathroom didn’t work, no hand soap in the bathroom, breakfast is not included, the air conditioner sounded like a dishwasher running 24/7, the room key didn’t work. We had to get it rescanned at the front desk every time we used it, ice machine on our floor didn’t work, outdoor access door didn’t work….i could go on and on…..Granted it is under construction, on the other floors, not even our floor. That’s no excuse for all of that. We won’t be back

Nothing in the hotel works. Outside doors do not work. Elevator does not work. Had to walk through a constructions zone. My tv did not work in my room. my plug didnt work in the bathroom. The front desk staff were not helpful. Honestly it was a very unsafe environment.

Water temperature should be checked, I love to take a hot shower after a long day and also the start of my day. Both times i tired the water temperature was warm at best.

It would have been nice to know hotel was under construction, I was on the back side of the hotel and was told to park there only to find out that several of those doors were not working... and IT WAS POURING DOWN rain. The upgraded rooms are sure better than before but not good enough that I would ever book here again. TINY BATHROOMS are never good for a traveling woman!!

Overall I did enjoy our stay, the room we had was conveniently located near a door that leads outside. The biggest issue we had is there was no microwave which as a traveling coupling for work made it hard to eat meals. Other than that though the place was great. There was also construction going on but I don’t fault the place for that.

This was a quick overnight trip. The Courtyard was convenient to restaurants and the venue we were visiting. The room was clean and everyone was very friendly. The overall building was a little older but the lobby area was updated.

Usually we stay at this hotel because of the location and it’s “usually” a great stay. However, upon check-in the hotel didn’t have my reservation, even though it was booked in advance, so was a bummer. After waiting about 30 mins it got sorted out and I got my room keycard ; but, the key didn’t work for the outside door so I was stuck outside while it was raining with my niece. So, I had to pack everything back up and head to the front desk and get another keycard. This time we decided to not drive to the other side of the hotel. Instead, we went through the inside of the hotel to reach our room, only thing is, we were never given any instructions on how to reach our room from the inside. So, we had to go back to the front desk and get instructions. After receiving the proper instructions, we finally made it to our floor and then to our amazement we found out that they were doing construction in the building, which we had no idea. Also, upon entering our room, the room was not in the usual condition to previous stays. It was only a one night trip, but I have to say I was very disappointed in the whole experience. Hopefully they can get it right because this is one of my favorite hotels in the Birmingham area.

The room was far from the lobby and the parking area. The room temperature was unable to be adjusted. The bed linens were small for a king size bed. The room was clean. TV remote batteries were weak. However , a new remote was requested and delivered to the room the next morning. This property is conveniently located by the Gallaria and restaurants . All employees were very courteous and helpful.

Darius, front desk, Marriott, was fantastic. We booked through hotel.com and had the confirmation #, but the reservation had not reached the hotel yet. Took about an hour to work it out even using hotel.com. The problem was really with hotel.com and not the hotel. The hotel manager and Darius assisted and smoothed the process.

Property is old and undergoing a remodel. There was nothing in room telling anything about amenities. There was no water or coffee available in the lobby. There were a lot of staff sitting in the dining/bar area and you could not tell if it was open or not.

The employees were very kind and always helpful. My room looked clean, but it smelt like body odor. I’m not sure if it was because they were renovating but it was not a pleasant smell.

I didnt have an issue with the employees as they were helpful but i had issues with the room and property itself. I had to have my keycard either replaced or recoded every day i was there. My remote didnt work for the tv. My AC wasnt working very well and i didnt have a thermostat, the unit itself just didnt blow very hard or cold. One of the side doors wouldnt let me in, it looked like they locked it but when i tried using my keycard it kept going red. The overall stay was fine for what i needed but all the small issues just kept adding up to make it very aggravating.

It would be nice to focus on certain basics. The fitness studio didn't have any wipes available, so I was unable to clean after myself. Not so nice for the next person using the treadmill. A hotel room ideally has two trash bins, one in the bathroom, one next to the desk. My room had neither, I had to leave trash in a cup on the table, not very convenient.
With the colder season approaching, a thicker blanket is needed, I was freezing in my bed.

Stay was great until the following morning. Check out was at 11am. The do not disturb sign was on the door. Between 9 & 11 a maid tried to come in 3 seperate times and knocked more than 5 seperate times. I was on a conference call that was impossible due to the cleaning service teying to flip the room

I will say the staff was friendly and helpful. The first room we got there were stains on the sheets. They moved us to another room. They gave us complimentary breakfast for the following day. What we didn’t notice til the next morning was the terribly dirty bathroom floor and unvacuumed carpet. We were staying in the old section while the other section was being renovated.

The initial room offered had a strong musk/damp smell and views of bins area. We were charged very quickly to a better room. The hotel is going through a refurb which it definitely needs and was reflected in the cheap price

Not the best hotel, it needs updating, the carpet was dirty, the walls stained and needed repair. Air conditioner continually cuts on and off during the night. Would not recommend.

Everything is good so far. I just checked in. The lady at the counter was friendly and courteous but also efficient. The room is clean and neat. The TV is on with a personalized welcoming message and directions for using the various options. My only issue with the room is that the grab bar in the tub is a bit loose. I am 76 years old with a slight concern about falling but I believe it will be okay.
