Check in was virtual. Interesting experience.
Or room was quiet.
Best parts: hot water and told of water pressure. Heater worked well to.

Simple, good motel with a fair price. Location in the old town is excellent. Friendly staff.

Had a great mini-vacation in Eureka, and the Town House Motel was the perfect location to serve as our home base. Right downtown and a very short walk to some great cafes and restaurants. What really stood out though was the service: Danny at the front desk and the woman who was keeping the hotel clean (we didn't get her name) were friendly and polite. Thanks to them - a wonderful way to begin the new year.

Third time here-the room was ready and clean, linens were clean and crisp, and the TV was great. Bathroom was chilly if the door was left closed, but warmed up quickly. We had to turn the heater off when we went to bed because it was loud, but we were comfortable. It was nice the car was safe under cover; we came back late, and Danny checked to see if we had a room, so no invaders. The first maid gave us extra coffee for the next day. We left, and I realized I left my hearing aids on the table. Danny checked, Beverly the Tuesday maid found them, so we zipped back to retrieve. We spent time in Old Town, which is a handful of blocks away. Enjoyed walking to and from the hotel via 3rd Street which was clean, quiet, and professional.
Every time we've been there, staff has been great.

Weird. Inconvenient access. Depressing.

There was blood on the sheets of my bed when i went to go lie down.

It may look cheesy and a little dirty (from traffic exhaust) from the outside, but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room furnishings (no lumpy mattress, spotless tiled shower)! The courtyard layout may contribute to the quiet night we had; though rooms on the side street might be louder.
We were able to walk to a yummy taqueria (Paco's Tacos) and a cidery (Humboldt Cider Co.)! Bravo...

Fantastic location near Old Town and next door is a bar/steakhouse restaurant.

Old smelly but you could tell it was cleaned and bed linens and mattresses were old and horrible

Okay, but older hotel.

We left behind our dogs harness and the manager called us before we left town. That’s customer service

The room was nice, cozy and clean. The staff was welcoming and polite.

Stayed here with two others last minute due to fires and the proprietor was very nice and helpful checking in. The rooms were clean in terms of bed sheets and the shower had hot water and decent pressure, though the rooms are quite darkly lit and it could do with some new paint or cleaning as the white was a bit stained/peeled. My room also had no ac, but it seemed to be one of the last few not occupied and the others seemed to have it. Overall good in a pinch, would sleep there if stuck in this city again.

Great staff, great price, great cleanliness but the area is awful…. Opposite corrections centre and many people living in the streets - not a nice place to walk around. Wouldn’t want to stay here by myself…

A very friendly welcome and everything was as expected. The motel is next to a busy street, but not too noisy.

The Town House has the appearance of just being worn out, everything is old, poorly repaired, painted over many times. Worn carpet, steep stairs, nothing of interest. However, the room was clean and comfortable, no complaint at all. I did like the parking area under the rooms, but since the area was completely open the street on all sides, there was nothing to prevent any vandalism other than some cameras.
Unfortunately, the only cure for this is a complete tear down and build new. Note that the 'Old Town' area is just around the corner with very nice Victorian era well maintained buildings. This TH building is really a 1950's something which has no character at all.
Still as a comfortable place and friendly staff I would recommend it, if the price is right (low) for some unpicky guests.

Scary area. Gangs and vagrants hanging around. Room was grim Strong smell of bleach. No elevator. All rooms need long climb. Disability unfriendly. Remove from listing pls!

This is the second time we stay at Town House Motel. We like it and it doesn't matter to us if it is an old building as long as it is clean we are happy. Danny is very helpful and makes you feel comfortable the minute you enter the lobby. We just needed a place to stay and sleep comfortably. We dropped off my son at Humboldt and spent the night there. Danny makes sure that guests feels safe with no disturbances.

While this room was sparkling clean, I was alarmed when I checked in with my dog and read the dog rules on the office wall. There were 10 or so onerous rules regarding pets. One of them was that if your pet caused a problem, they had the right to have your pet removed. You also had to take the back staircase if you had a pet. And you are only allowed ONE pet. I went out in the morning in my PJs to let my dog have a potty break, and when I got back to my room, my card key wouldn't work, so then I had to go to the office at 7:00 am in my PJs to get the card key programmed again.

The gentleman who checked us in was very pleasant. The room simple but clean and nice for its age. Keep in mind it is one of the most affordable in the area. Walking distance to restaurants. Highly recommend Lost Coast for dining. It’s just down the street. On the negative side street noise is there but earbuds were drowning that out. A couple in a nearby room got into a loud argument around 11:00 pm. He proceeded to puke loudly until about 1:00am. Homeless and drug addicts are in the area.
None of this is fault of the owner of the hotel. It’s the environment. But hey, it didn’t cost an arm and a leg like other hotels.

Dangerous neighborhood with drug addicts surrounding the property that is across the street from the county jail. Nothing they don’t already know

Loved that we had a double room suite and a good night's sleep. Thanks!

Quaint parking below hotel rooms. Walkable to downtown. No frills location but exactly what we were looking for for this stay.

Great spot in the heart of Eureka. Very budget friendly! I cackled at the small amount of bad reviews because it’s a motel first of all, it’s an older establishment second of all, and it’s not the Hilton third of all. Perfect for a night or 2. Danny was amazing and made sure everything was taken care of for my stay. The room was super clean and all the amenities and appliances worked perfectly. I liked the fact that Danny was right downstairs, and being a solo traveler, I felt safe knowing the manager was very attentive and close by if anything was needed or happened. I’d stay here again for sure!

This place was horrible. And they started construction early in the morning, couldnt sleep. Worst place ever.

Old damage carpet. Old building room with old furniture not well maintained. Not worth the price.

This place is super clean. The room had no smell! I can’t even get that at a chain hotel. Highly recommend, and I’m picky. Danny was an absolute saint, staying up so I could have a very late check in.

This was a great little spot for a weekend getaway! The staff was very nice and helped us accommodate changes in our schedule and kept us stocked on fresh towels. Only downside was the television didn't really work, and the remote as well. Thank you for the cozy stay!

The townhouse hotel has some major drawbacks that cannot be ignored. Firstly, the walls are incredibly thin, making it easy to hear noise from other rooms and the hallway. This can be very disruptive for those trying to sleep or work. Additionally, the guests staying at this hotel can be quite loud and inconsiderate, further adding to the noise level. However, despite these issues, the hotel's employees are very kind and helpful. They do their best to address any concerns and make guests feel welcome. The price is good for the space and the location is convenient. The room was spacious and clean. Overall, while the noise level and thin walls can be frustrating, the hotel's employees and other factors do make up for some of the shortcomings. It may not be the best option for those seeking a peaceful and restful stay, but it could be a decent choice for those who prioritize friendly staff and convenient location.
