We checked in for a couple minutes and had to check out. The hotel was filthy. I went in to use the bathroom and there was a pubic hair and pee in the toilet! The pillows were stained! Microwave dirty! The floor boards were disgusting! Overall disgusting hotel! I would never stay there after seeing how they clean and “maintain” the property. I went to front desk and told the lady. She offered another room. I told her I don’t trust this hotel and can’t stay where it’s not clean. She said to contact hotels.com and I’ll get a refund. Now I am still waiting for a refund. What kind of business is this! I need a refund for a place we didn’t stay at because it was filthy!

Poorly cleaned, looked like managements entire family lived on the small property. 1st room was inexcusably dirty with visible signs from previous guests including dirty socks and hair absolutely everywhere. The second and third rooms offered as replacements were no better and no other compensation was offered.

We have stayed here before and had a pleasant stay. When we searched for a place to stay again… this was our preferred spot. We liked opening the window or door and have a fresh snow view and experience the falling snow. They have a hot tub that we enjoy relaxing after a day of adventures. It’s close by to casinos, restaurants, and more.

Solid little hotel. I travel a lot and have stayed at all sorts of hotels (from the St. Regis Shanghai to JW Marriot Cairo, to many many hotels across the US), but also camp and love the outdoors so am pretty flexible.
Good stay for what this place is (basic, two-star motel). I wanted something no frills / not expensive but walkable to gondola/village for a solo ski trip and was a bit spooked by some of the negative reviews. Don't be! It was more than fine and I'd stay again.
Bed was comfy. New pillows. Room was immaculately clean, if well-loved. Heat worked fine. No noise issues from other rooms / walls (there were kids running around at like 9pm but then they stopped).
Actually really liked the funky little hot tub outside.
Shower head needs to be fixed a bit, but worked well enough. Parking spots were a bit icy, but that's Tahoe on days where snow is melting and then re-freezing overnight.

The bed was super comfortable, the room was really small but very clean. The shower was a disaster. The water pressure was like 5% of what a normal shower head is and the water was scolding hot. Whether you turned it to hot or cold it was too hot.

If you're looking for a clean wallet-friendly place to stay, the Alpine Inn fits the bill.
This is one of many motels in the area that were built decades ago. Some upgrading but still the same budget motel room. Clean and efficient.
If you need a room to sleep after doing anything in So. Lake Tahoe and/or Stateline, this would be a great place that leaves you with more money in your pocket.
The Alpine Inn sits next to another motel, Basecamp, that has had extensive remodeling, and has a brewpub with outside seating, so if you want to grab a beer and some grub, you're literally are right next store.

Some rooms need renewal.

I like the near by walking distance to casino less than 3 minutes. I love how the room have a fridge and microwave in the room.
I dislike how the pool is not working and the blankets had holes in it and I found multiple hairs between the bed sheet and blanket.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! 1/2 block to Harvey’s. Super convenient! Really nice staff! Super old and run down. Jetted tub was awesome. I always clean the bathtubs with my own bleach just in case. Other than that the place was Very clean. Just old needs a major update. I would stay there again just for the price and location.

We stayed for two nights. Very close to everything… restaurants, casinos, shopping etc. property could use some upgrades but it looks to me like there working on that. Room was small but, it was clean so it worked for us. The only thing we really disliked were the towels, it was like drying off with rags… other that that it was OK.

Quiet clean (minimal blood splatter) and walkable to everything in south lake. We have stayed her many times- it’s a great value

Location is close to the casino. When we arrived there was a couple yelling and slamming the door downstairs. The room smelled like some left a joint lit. Towel is covering the hole to the outside for the ac. The bed was comfortable. Tv did not work well at all. Channels either didn’t come in or was fuzzed out. Property manager said it is an issue with the rooms on the end. Tried to swap boxes and it made it worse. So he just left with a worse result.

Great location and affordable. The room was clean but the whole building needs some serious updating.

it's close to the casinos and no insulation in between rooms so you hear things you don't want to

The AC ( they are still using window AC) was very noisy, so couldn’t sleep properly. Only 5-6 out of listed 40 channels were working. Even after complain, he was not able fix it. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

It was clean. The owners were very approachable and the cost was decent. I’d stay again. Thanks

The pictures of the rooms are misleading and not of the actual rooms. We had reserved a total of 3 rooms for our party and each room was the same. The rooms we were given had old Super 8 murals on the walls over the beds. The walls were dirty and the ceiling fan has a thick layer of grime. The furniture was old and scratched up. The beds were not stable and very rickety. The room had pieces of the A/C and heating unit was on the floor next to the bed creating a possible hazard trying to get in on that side of the bed. Also the tv didn’t work.

The place was average all the way around. It was also very cheap and not put together very well.

This was the worst hotel ive ever stayed at. I will be reporting them to the appropriate authorities. Beware of electrical issues and live wires coming out of the wall and into your mattress.
Not only is the building falling apart it was very unclean. Worst experience to what was supposed to be a fun day

The Owners were quite friendly. The first room I got (spa tub room) was absolutely terrible. I requested a different room, which was upstairs. The owner initially resisted because he didn’t want to have to have the room cleaned. But eventually relented. The new room was far better, but not worth the weekend rates charged by a long shot. The “Spa” was broken the whole time I was there. Overall, I was happy to have a place to be during the Hilary hurricane. But definitely not worth the money.

I been on double standard beds before with 2 people. Seems like they r only ment for 1. The spa was out of order. The room needs some updates in furniture and bathroom. Small bathroom with standing shower. Pool was goid. Good walking distance from the casinos, ahopping, resturants, and a beach.

Im physically disabled, can not walk long distance. The walk to the casino's is very short. As Arnold Schwarzenegger would say, I'll be back.

The pictures made the place look nicer than it is. The staff was nice. But the place needs some major renovations. Paint was chipped and peeling the bed spread was dirty the room smelled. All the furniture was banged up. We decided not to stay and drove all the way back home. It was definitely not worth the $265 that I had to pay

Overall, the stay worked out because it was close to the event I was attending, Lake Tahoe Celebrity Golf Tournament. However, there was some inconveniences, due to electric outlets not working. My partner uses a CPAP machine and the outlet next to the bed was not working and using the machine to sleep is a medical necessity. The outlet in restroom also did not work and could not use the hair dryer, another inconvenience.
